  1. Has anyone had any experience at all with this lens on a bolex reflex?

    Peleng 8mm

Has anyone used a Peleng 8mm fisheye lens on a bolex rx? How were the results? What type of c-mount adapter would I need? Thanks in Advance.
  3. Thanks for the help. I actually took it over to NFL films in NJ and the guys in the lab did the work for me. I'm definetly going to miss using NFL for process and transfer when I move out west. They have a great facility and the staff is super helpful and considerate of student work. Just thought I'd share that with everyone.
  4. I recently shot a project on an ARRI SR2 with 400 ft loads. I ended up having an extra 400 ft roll when I was finished shooting but it is useless to me because I don't own the ARRI and won't be using it anytime soon. I own a bolex and I would like to be able to cut the 400ft roll down to 4 seperate 100ft rolls, does anyone know a reliable lab that can do this?
  5. from my first post. "While the entire documentary will remain in the native 16mm aspect ratio, I would like to have it transferred at 4x3 for use as b-roll in a separate project." The separate project can not be matted because it was not shot with the intention of being 4x3, If it was matted alot of the original material would be no good.
  6. I recently shot some plus x negative super 16mm for a documentary. While the entire documentary will remain in the native 16mm aspect ratio, I would like to have it transferred at 4x3 for use as b-roll in a separate project. What I'm wondering is, if I have the super 16 transferred at a 4x3 aspect ratio and they have to zoom in slightly in the telicine, what type of grain should I expect? I know there are signigant grain reductions that can be done, but I'm wondering if the film will be horribly grainy in full screen.
  7. I've had a canon 814xls for a few years, and about a year ago, the camera seemed to jam up and has since stopped working. The motor still runs, but the camera won't advance film, I was told that this is a simple problem that I could easily fix (if i took the camera apart). But I'd rather send the camera out instead of risking further damage to take it apart myself. Does anyone know where I can have this camera serviced?
  8. I'm looking for wide angle lenses for my bolex. If you have any that are 5mm - 8mm for sale I would be interested in purchasing them. Thanks
  9. Where can I find this century wide angle adaptor? Any chance they still manufacture it?
  10. I've got a 50 mm Kern Lens that I would be interested in selling.
  11. The lens is marker h16 rx. I'm just wondering what makes the Kern lens better, as far as optics go? I'm guessing the Som lens would be more likely to flair? Anything else I should be aware of, I just shot my first test roll so I guess I'll see. Also, when shooting with the rx lenses on the bolex reflex, I don't need to compensate exposure for the light lost in the prism, Correct?
  12. I recently purchased a Bolex Reflex, and it came with several lenses including a Som Berthoit 10mm. Since most of the filming I will be doing with the Bolex requires a fairly wide shot, I'll be using a 10mm lens quite a bit. I've used the Kern 10mm before and had great results, can I expect good results with the Som Berthoit lens as well? Or should I sell it and invest the money towards the Kern. Thanks in advance.
  13. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with fisheye, or really wide angle lenses on the Bolex (6mm and below). The only lens I know of is the Century 5.7mm, has anyone used this lens? Or does anyone know if it has vignetting? Any tips on a good fisheye for the Bolex without vignetting? thanks in advance.
