  1. Tax Return..... Filed!!!!!! :o)

  2. There is only really one thing in this world that baffles, amazes and annoys me at the same time... Apart from Drivers.... And that is Losander.... He's so clever and so smug at the same time....!!!! HOW DOES HE DO HIS TRICKS!!!! Arghhh....

  3. Is happy now that I have found out that I can add dental to my tax return.... whoop whoop!!!!!!

  4. American Hustle. Good performances. Complex storyline but easy to follow. But most of it looks like it was made in a rush. And way too long.

  5. Well this is it 2014 - My blog is well underway.... http://www.jamesiangray.com/Blog

  6. Hi All, I was wondering if you could have a look at my latest Showreel as I'm moving slowly into Cinematography but still keeping to my day job of DIT / AC. But I thought I'd share and let me know what you think, what you'd do and what I should change: Also have a look at my findings of becoming a Cinematographer, let me know what you think on my blog too: www.jamesiangray.com/Blog All comments are greatly welcome. Cheers James Ian Gray [Camera Assistant + DIT] http://www.jgrayonline.com
  7. Thanks Phil and Stuart, Indeed am working my way up through the ranks just wondering if there was a way to get more experience and learn more about the science and how to look at it in a story way rather than a technical way from an assistants point of view. By-the-way sorry for the late reply been manic here working all over the place. On the other hand indeed apprenticship does mean freebee work and in some way yes I'd be more than happy to watch and shadow for free. Although if a DP turns to me and tells me to do a shot I'd be honnoured (underqualified) but would think, I'm not really getting paid for this.... Although on the other hand if I go into making short films, etc. Then the same would have to be said again, I'll be doing it for free or for little next to nothing as well. There just isn't any money anywhere. :-( But I think I'll stick to my day job of DIT and assisting for now. Although I've made a blog about my learnings so far, hehehe: http://www.jamesiangray.com/Blog/ Let me know what you think if you have chance to look at it. Cheers all for the replies. :o) Cheers James Ian Gray http://www.jgrayonline.com
  8. Well after around possibly 12 years of not going to the dentist..... I went today!!!!! 2 teeth on Root Canal Treatment!!!! Just before I go off to Florida... Ha take that pain!!!!

  9. Hi, I'm looking to further my career in cinematography and was wondering if you could help me as I'm trying to find (if there is any) an apprentice scheme in the UK to be mentored by a cinematographer or a few cinematographers? Just thought I'd put it out there to see if anyone has been involved or knows of any schemes, etc. Cheers All James Ian Gray

If there was a way at all that is? I've been in the industry from sound to post production for Broadcast and DOP on a couple of shorts but nothing too major and was wondering if anyone could help me? Or if anyone was willing for me to 2nd AC on something for very small money just to gain ropes and more experience. I promise you, you won't be dissapointed. Sorry little bit cheeky there....
