  1. I have relisted this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...E:IT&ih=006
  2. Only a few hours left on this auction. No bids as of yet. If you have any questions, please ask. 35MM PL mount for under $2K.
  3. I'm offering up my converted Konvas 1M for a ridiculous price on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...s=tab%3DSelling If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. This camera is in great working condition and has recently been serviced.
  4. My camera is on Ebay right now. If you have questions, please feel free to ask. The pictures were taken very fast, if you would like to see better ones, I can take the time out over the weekend. This would make a great MOS camera for anyone looking to do some low budget work. It's very clean. Slowmotion Inc. gave me a $6,500 estimation on the appraisal. The auction price is much lower. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...E:IT&ih=006
  5. I am letting go of this great camera. It is a Konvas 1M converted to a PL mount. I sent the camera off 2 weeks ago to be appraised and serviced by Anatoly at Slowmotion, INC. in Sun Valley, CA. The conversion was completed before I purchased the camera, but Anatoly claims that it is still one of the best converted Konvas cameras he has ever seen and that the condition of the camera is very rare. This is what you will receive: 1 x Konvas 1M PL Mount Converted 5 x 200ft Mags (2 of which were serviced this month, all mags come with original cases) 2 x 400ft Mags 1 x 17EP-16APK Motor (most advanced of serial Konvas motors) 1 x Konvas Sun Shield 1 x RafCamera Video Assist For Konvas Cameras There are a couple of extra Fuses and Cables included and I will also include the paperwork from the most recent service on the camera by Slowmotion. The appraisal that Anatoly gave me for this package (with only 2 of the 7 mags) was $6500 which can be confirmed by calling him at Slowmotion. However, I'm initially going to ask $5,750 + UPS Ground Shipping (around $80 insured). The camera will be shipped from my home in North Carolina. I will have detailed pictures available in the next couple of days, but if you would like to go ahead and discuss the purchase of this camera, feel free to give me a call anytime. I'm also willing to entertain offers. Thanks for reading guys. Mike Rufail (803) 237-7772 mike_rufail@yahoo.com
  6. It is what it is. I think for the sake of this camera I will just have to deal with that issue. There's no good reason to risk the accuracy of all the working components to solve this problem in this case. I am sure I will find many lenses that will accomodate. However, I do need to gain some insight into testing the shutter clearance by manually advancing a single frame. How would I go about testing each lens. Also Richard, it is my understanding that PL zooms will not create any problems with the shutter clearance. Am I correct? Again, all help is appreciated and I'll make sure the chart tests are available for you guys to view. I will also post the first bits of footage after the camera is lubed and serviced. Thanks again. Mike
  7. what a coincidence. i've read many of your posts on the konvas cameras richard. i am aware of the lense/shutter issue as your guy ed made clear right away. so cooke s4s and zeiss superspeed primes need to be checked as well? as for my choice, it was a very calculated move on my part. only because i've been hunting for a PL 1M or 2M on ebay furiously over the past 2 months. only fate is to be credited with me being able to snipe this one off. I don't think it was up for more than 2 hours before I used "buy it now". do you still have any gear for it? mike
  8. this is actually a 1M converted. I find that out after the auction closing, but not a problem. I am having a hard time deciding where to service this camera and the 5 of the 7 mags that came with it. I talked to the guys at Slowmotion (they did the conversion) who said that this would take 2-4 hrs of labor at $95/hr. does anyone else service konvas cameras? *in the states? Olex, I am looking for a motor that can handle higher speeds, a matte box and support that will fit a converted 1M. let me know where i can find those items. thanks. mike
  9. So I just went for it an purchased my first 35mm camera off ebay. It is a Konvas 2m converted to PL mount. Barring any setbacks from ebay's deadbeat sellers and fraudulent users, I will be shooting tests with this camera in about 2 weeks. I will be sure to post screengrabs and even some test footage in h.264 for those of you who reply to this post or show any interest. I want to know what you guys think first hand of the purchase. I have experience using arriflex camera systems mainly. I know a little of what to expect from this camera. I know the threading may be a little tough to learn, but what else should I know before I proceed? Anyway, take a look at the auction page and tell me what you think. Click Here For Auction Page. Thanks, mike
  10. i was searching "straight shooter". thanks a ton.
  11. I was on a show with a piece of equipment called "the straightshooter". That particular one was shipped from NYC. I was just curious if anyone knows who manufactures them. Thanks.
  12. It would be refreshing to see some advancement in a stock like that. A small smack to the face of those trend setters you speak of, but I guess business is business and the market would have to be in harmony with Kodak or Fuji's goals. I have not been versed in the current developments of either company. However, I would like to know more about their future plans for new stocks. I am particularly interested if they are planning to offer any specialty stocks such as the infrared one used for the indie "Wristcutters" http://www.wristcutters.com/. I would love to purchase some of that stock if any knows where I could find some.
  13. Speaking of 800T, were you a fan David? Some of the recan distributors still have some available. I have used this stock before and wasn't extremely impressed, but I thought it would be a mainstay stock for certain applications. 5229 seems to be taking over. I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I was curious what you think about the 800T stock and what the future holds for the development of a stock similar to it.
  14. That's sad to hear. I was looking forward to seeing that film. I can't deduct much about the cinematography from the trailer, but it seems to favor dialogue as the driving force. Oh, and who can't appreciate "comfortably numb" as the hook?
  15. I have some 35mm film stock on ebay right now. All 500T (mostly 5229). 3,320 ft starting bid is $440. Well kept. AUCTION PAGE Thanks for looking, Mike
