  1. I recently watched the movie Elephant, by Gus Van Zandt the same guy who did Good Will Hunting. Anyways this movie was shot on MiniDV, on what looks to be a small consumer camera. On the disk was the making of the movie. The camera guy had the camera on a pistol grip which seemed to be attached to an ultra wide angle lens. It made the shot look super steady. Can anyone tell me what this is and how can I get one. Thanks

I did find one camera, the Panasonic AG-DVC7 MiniDV Proline Camcorder. Some sites its like 950 bucks but I found it for around 600. Have you ever heard of this camera and is it worth the money?

    Vintage Bolex

I have recently acquired a vintage Bolex camera, it has a three lens turret and it was used in the 70's and 80's as a camera for a local tv station. It looks a little beat up, and not sure if it works. I am getting ready to do a documentary and shoot on film for the first time. How can I check if this camera works with out shooting film? Matthew
  8. In the David Fincher movie, "The Game," there are flashback sequences that looks like old 8mm footage, much like the old films my parents had of them as kids. What kind of camera did they use to acheive that look? If I want to get the colorign and the flicker, is my best bet to get and old 8mm camera? Any suggestions would be great. Thank you Matt
