    Hi I’m focusing a shoot next week, the dop has moded some Helios lenses. He’s tried them on and says sometimes they unscrew from the focus motor. It’s just a short film on a 5d Mkiv, and I wondered if anyone knew of anything like a mount or cage that could stop this. It’s been a while since I’ve shot like this, so I’m not really up to date on my dslr knowledge. cheers so much for any help.

    Hi all, I lent a 256 Lexar cfast card for the Alexa mini to a friends shoot. They had no dit and are saying the card cannot be read by their Mac? I wasn’t on the shoot so I can only assume they formatted the card in camera before filming. I’ve attached the screen shots they forwarded to me. Any ideas folks?

    Currently when imported the edit software believes the camera footage to be ramped by 1 frame.

    Is the only option to edit everything as a 25fps project? I know its only a minute difference Ive just got the director asking me about this.

    No on the cameras menu setting the FPS was set to 24 and the project settings were left at 25.

    Hi everyone, I was on a shoot the other day and the Alexa Mini, was set up to record 24fps, however the project settings were left at 25fps. The director is Keane tokeep the music video at 24 fps to match play back and the time code. We also shot some slow mo at 36fps that he would like to keep to sync up. Im wondering if there was any way to get the footage back to 24fps? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    i recently watched the australian snowtown and it had these shots that where overcranked and the lights source would flicker, ive noticed this used in other clips else where but just always wondered how it was done

    Cool ermm i guess the first video tape film in digital format and the first film recorded to memory card or hard drive

    i meant not video or dv so a camera that goes straight to hard drive, external drive or memory cards if any one knows but thanks these will still be great for my middle area

    im currently writting athesis at university about the rise of digital in film, and wonderd does anybody know what the first film shot on digital was and what camera it was filmed on. im after full digital not dv recording etc. thankyou for any help or refferences it would help me so much.

    im currently in pre production as dp for my final film at uni, and we are planning a few scenes with a sickly green lights similar to "Natural Born Killers" but not so the full set is illuminated green, more just sleceted areas down a corridor having this green glow. I will be shooting on a 5d mkii so will be open on changing colour temperature to help achieve this. what i need to know is which lights, gels, and colour temperature would create these greens? thanks for any help and advice
