  1. I have shot two films for TV with the Sony FX-1. It does not have the ability or features of the F65 or Arri Alexa but it is not anywhere near their price either. I am happy with the results. Be prepared - it does not have the latatude that you will want but you can work around that. I shot straight to tape but you can bypass that. It is lightweight, easy to shoot and will give you a great picture for DVD or TV release. It does not have XLR inputs but I bypassed that by using a 1/8 - XLR cord and still used a shotgun mic for on board recording. Remember it's the final picture that matters - not how you got there.
