  1. Hi-- I recently picked up a Bolex Anamorphot lens for 8mm. At the time I believed this lens would simple screw onto the end of any Bolex 8mm D-mount lens. Looks like you need a special mounting system. Great. Are there two different versions of the holder? Will the "holder" work the same on both cams (8 and 16)? Are there other options? I was planning on using the lens (for 8mm) with an adapter on a Rex V for 16. Thanks!
  2. So there's supposed to be a lever of some kind beneath the motor? {described as (e) in the linked info you provided} My unit doesn't have one. Am I missing something? Thanks for your reply!
  3. Hi All-- I came across what I believe is a '60s MC-17 Unimotor for Bolex cams. Can anyone sort me out as to its operation? It's much smaller than other Bolex motors I've seen. It looks as if the drive-shaft fits neatly into the backwind slot and then a small screw in the camera body must be removed in order to attach the lower part of the motor. Is this somehow related to speed control? If there is no speed adjust, how is the motor operated? There are no buttons or switches on the unit, just a two-pin power cable. From what I understand these fit Bolex 8mm cams as well-- unless there were two versions? Many thanks for any tips! I haven't been able to discover the answers online. Zach
  4. Hi All-- I recently discovered some tiny black specks showing up through the viewfinder of my Nizo camera. As these specks are a new development, I'm assuming it's some kind of mildew. If possible, I would like to get rid of the mildew without taking apart the lens. I have tried to leave it in the sun without any luck so far. Any other ideas? Thank you.
  5. Thank you for that, my cam came with a xeroxed manual, but does not contain that info. Got the film back without issues. I had the back-light switch engaged the whole time. Lens is sharper than I expected. Nice camera.
  6. My two-cents worth, I've had problems with the 100D cartridges as well, on many different types of cameras. Especially nearing the end of a roll, the cartridge will often slow or stop. I've also sometimes been able to actually hear/feel the tension of the film in the cartridge winding unevenly in terms of speed. The 100D stock cartridges seem to be made of a lighter plastic than the old 64T. Perhaps that is part of the issue. I can only say that I've definitely had issues with this stock, and it's been very frustrating. Good luck.
  7. Hi All-- Recently, the handle came apart on a Bauer C2A I usually use (the plastic around the screws holding the handle on crumbled apart). My Nautica has stress-cracks in the handle, I feel like it's going to break soon. I would like to fix these cameras myself if possible. Any tips on repair and/or reinforcement very much appreciated. Thank you!
  8. Hi There! The zoom is really sticking on my Bauer 8E. It sounds like something grinding around in there-- has anyone else had this problem? If I apply tension with my hand (squeezing the area around the zoom-ring slightly) it is easier to move, but still sticks somewhat. I am wondering how difficult it might be to take apart the lens and figure out if it needs lubrication or what but I don't want to break anything. The problem is inconsistent and may be related to the macro setting. Perhaps it is hopeless, if the plastic has deteriorated. Any advice appreciated. Many thanks. Zach
  9. Hi There-- Wondering if this camera will read these film stocks okay as it does not have manual controls for exposure. Thanks!
