  1. Hey guys, I just sold my old canon kit lenses which I had left after I sold my T2i. I have now 5Dmark2 from a while and I shoot occasionally with 5DIII and FS100. I have Nikkor AIS lenses: 24mm f/2.8, 35mm f/2.8 and 50mm f/1.4. I have $1000 in my pocket and I want to add some lens(es) to my bag. I read a lot, I watched bunch of reviews, but I don't have any idea what would be the most profitable for me at this point. Should I grab 24-105mm f/4 with its image stabilization? Or maybe a better choice will be Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 which has amazing reviews, plus some other lens? I like to shoot with manual lenses, but since I shoot mostly with DSLR, maybe I should go for Canon 24-105mm. I know f/4 is little slow, and will probably suck in low light situations, but I shoot mostly during the day, and for low light I have my Nikon babies. I don't have $$ for Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 :/ which I would prefer (or Tamron 24-70mm with IS). Thanks guys! Rob
  2. Hello, I will be transferring and I have dilema which school to choose. UT at Austin TX has a great film program, but UNT at Denton TX is cheaper and has good reputation too. Any opinions from cinematographer's point of view at these schools. It's hard to find any relevant reviews online. From the knowledge I gathered on the internet and by asking people who are present students at UT Austin. Very briefly: RTF program at the University of Texas at Austin means lots of connections, but less opportunities to get your hands on, less opportunities with internships, you have to work very hard by yourself if you want to have your projects done. RTVF program at the University of North Texas at Denton has more opportunities with internships and scholarships as well, you have practice in the public TV, it's cheaper. Probably UT has slightly better equipment, but I'm not sure about that. I know UT will be purchasing Arri Alexa for grad students but it means nothing. What are your opinion guys? Anybody attended, or is studying now at any of the universities? Thanks, Rob
