  1. So I've got a big project coming up where I was planning to shoot on the C300 for 3 days. But recently was able to work as a camera assistant with the Scarlet, and after now seeing as they are both almost the same renting price I'm not sure which I should go with. I've also only assisted with the Scarlet, never shot with it. Does the RAW and 2 stop difference on the Scarlet really make a difference? But also having to get tons more cards and batteries to go with it? What other possible pros and cons should I be looking at?
  2. Hey all, I'm a sophomore at a university, studying film and video. Over the summer, I'm will be in Los Angeles, and am currently looking for internships. While a lot of the internship suggestions I have been given are great, I don't think I could be stuck in an office for the whole summer. But will if I have to be. I'd much prefer being outside, on set, shooting anything and working on my cinematography. I'm looking to see if I can study under anyone that was interested on taking in an assistant while out in Los Angeles. My internship doesn't require you to pay me anything, and I can work a minimum of three times a week, 9-5. I will have a car, a laptop, and valid drivers license. If interested, please feel free to E-mail me at drew.emery2@gmail.com and I can send you my resume and work I've done. Thanks so much.
  3. Hey guys, just joined so I could ask a question that has been bugging me for awhile. I'm an aspiring Director of Photography, and right now taking a class on Color Grading using DaVinci Resolve. When shooting flat, it almost seems like you lost all control over what you create as the DP. With all the new capabilities that come with this powerful program, being able to change almost anything in the scene, where are DP's jobs headed? Knowing the program and having the power to be able to change the color of any object, the lighting, and color temperature, what will we be needed for on set? How do you feel when you are almost giving away all your creativity to the colorist?
