Hi - Does anyone know what the shutter angle is on early Eyemo models - the ones with the speed control latch on the front of the camera? Is it 180 degrees or less than that? Thanks, Aaron

Thanks for your interest. Most of the projects I use my Bolex on will be very short, most less than five minutes in length. Aaron

Hi - I've just launched a newsletter called The Bolex Test, and it's about me trying to make a living with a 1963 Bolex REX 3. It's free to subscribe and updates will arrive in your inbox every Thursday. Here's where to subscribe and check out the first post thebolextest.substack.com Thanks, Aaron

OK - further research shows the pressure plate and stuff inside the camera are correct. It's just the gate I'm interested in. Thanks, Aaron

Hi - I recently purchased a Bolex REX 3 and it has some modifications I have never seen on a Bolex before. 1) When I look through the lens mount with the shutter open I can see a gold piece of metal that seems to shrink the size of the gate. 2) The pressure plate is black. It looks to be the correct size, but it's definitely not a standard Bolex pressure plate. 3) There is an arm attached to the pressure plate, and some mechanical stuff below it I don't recognize? Here's three photos to help illustrate what I am seeing: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1oeejb7n2pRDvG41kLtVLXgZxKaXTTJkS?usp=sharing Has anyone seen modifications like these before? Do you know how/why/where they would have been done? Any help is appreciated, and I am happy to post more photos if needed. Thanks, Aaron

Hi - I'm selling fifteen (15) 100-foot rolls of 16mm Kodak 7203 50D. The film was purchased at the beginning of November for a shoot that isn't happening. It's been properly stored, only caveat is that each roll has a camera roll number written on it in with a Sharpie. This is easily crossed out. I'm asking $590.40 (or $39.36 per roll) plus $20 FedEx Ground shipping for the lot. I prefer to sell as a single lot, but will consider selling groups of four rolls or more. I can only ship the film within the US. Please DM me if you're interested. Thanks, Aaron (734) 812-5049

Ricardo, You can get a rough idea of the FPS by running a 100-foot length of dummy load through the camera, timing how long it takes with the stopwatch on a smartphone and then checking that time against an online film calculator. Aaron

David, This looks great. May I ask how you handled the sync portions and where you had your processing, scan and color correction done? Thanks, Aaron

Uli, I had a similar issue with my Arri 16 S over the summer. The problem was a notch that had warn into a plastic switch fork that is contacted by the internal plunger. Aaron

Shortage of 16mm 7219 and 7213?
Aaron Martin @ OH replied to Dirk DeJonghe's topic in Film Stocks & Processing
Yeah, that's it for sure. Production ramped up at the same time schools/students were placing their fall orders and that's why 16mm film is hard to get. -
