  1. From someone who was just shooting some hockey for the first time a couple of weeks ago (just for fun and nowhere near as fast), I LOVE this. The opening shot feels unbalanced--I keep wanting to tilt the camera down to compensate for the trajectory of the Zamboni. But once we are on the ice with him, the movement of the player and the camera is really exciting. Also, in terms of the edit, I suggest shortening shots 2 and 3 to get us to the ice quicker.
  2. A reel with a personality and a sense of humor, how novel! Looks like you're working on engaging projects as well. Lovely reel.
  3. Since not too many people actually answered your request for feedback, I'll say that I think your work is very strong. I actually like the presentation of the films as discrete video clips because it gives a sense for the visual style of each piece. There are similarities across the clips--your handheld framing of people in tight spaces, for example. But then there's the fiction vs. non-fiction shooting and it's nice to have those separated. The documentary on the artist is to me the most stunning. The shooting creates a strong sense of the artist's space. My other favorite shot was the airplane over the wheat field. Terrific stuff overall!
  4. Balanced sense of composition. Solid operating. The lighting in the early family dinner is naturalistic. The last dinner scene is obviously not meant to be naturalistic and it does draw attention to itself. Once the lights start blinking all is forgiven, however. I think you're putting good work out there!
