  1. Yes, XAVC would be used for 4K on Sony F5/F55. Want to work with your 4K videos from Sony on Mac OS X in Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, iMovie, etc. You'd better get a professional 4K Video Converter for Mac.
  2. I think Brorsoft Video Converter can help you to convert you Canon MOV from 30p to 25p. Just set the right frame rate before start conversion.
  3. Do you have FCP installed on your computer? You can import your MXF files to FCP for viewing and editing. If it doesn't work, try to convert MXF to MP4, AVI, MOV, MPEG for playing easily with QuickTime.
  4. I plan to purchase the Sony FDR-AX100 4K camcorder that was just announced at the CES last week. Sony has had a consumer camcorder on the market since last September (the Sony FDR-AX1) which uses the same XAVC-S codec as the not yet released Sony FDR-AX100. What I’m looking for is some tips on editing this 4K XAVC S format in Final Cut Pro (X). I am hopeful that editing XVAC S footage on the new Mac Pro will be possible without the large file sizes produced by transcoding. Searched widely and further, I got some tech support from some guys but not from Apple. http://jacknjchn.tumblr.com/post/74570124679/xavc-s-converter-mac-convert-sony-fdr-ax100-mp4-to
  5. Great exprience. While, I can't import the Sony F5 XAVC files to Adobe Preimiere Pro successfully until I'd transcode the XAVC video to MPEG-2 files. Any of you have the similar issue on your F5? A tutorial for you: http://us.shuttle.com/scgforum/tm.aspx?m=6400&mpage=1&key=ᤀ
  6. As far as I know Premiere Pro can't supported P2 MXF files well. In fact, most of the non-linear editing systems (NLE) including Final Cut Pro (FCP 6/7/X), iMovie (9/11), Final Cut Express, Avid Media Composer, Aodbe Premiere Pro are incapable of handling P2 MXF files well. If you want to smoothly import and edit the recorded P2 MXF footage with Premiere on Mac, the best solution is to transcoding the P2 MXF files first and then ingest them to your NLE. Here is a solution for you: Guide to Transcoding Panasonic P2 MXF files for Mac editing smoothly. Since you are a Windows PC users, just get the Windows MXF encoding tool. The workflow is the same.
