  1. Attached are a wider shot of the camera and a shot of the loose mirror! Near the front there is a place that the mirror fits perfectly but it is laying flat (parallel to the viewfinder mechanism) so it does not work, so I would like to know where the mirror should actually sit! Thanks a lot!!
  2. Sorry about that!! Here is the part of the camera that reflects into the lens.
  3. Sorry I can only upload one picture, so I have uploaded the picture of the camera body only!
  4. I got a neat camera at Goodwill and the mechanism works fine (camera sounds like it should with batteries in it) but the viewfinder does not work. I opened it up and the mirror is loose, I was wondering exactly where the mirror needs to go to fix this problem? Thanks a lot! Attached are 2 pictures, one of the inside of the camera, the front is where I think the mirror should go, and the second is of the loose mirror!
  5. It says in the manual for the Canon 518 SV (I found the manual for this camera) quote "When using black and white or daylight type color, the CCA filter is automatically cancelled with the insertion of the film cartridge." Does this mean that I do not have to keep the key in the camera every time I use it?
  6. Gotcha it is a filter cancelation key. Now should I keep that in for this film (I think it is repackaged Kodak tri-x ISO 200) because I read somewhere on this forum that someone kept it on and the film was very underexposed! I don't think it was the same film though!
  7. I just got Canon Auto Zoom 518 SV and some brand new Super 8 Film & Processing Trix Super 8-66 (http://www.pro8mm.com/Merchant5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=01&Product_Code=Super8-66&Category_Code=S8flm) film to go with it. This camera included the case, and a small metal tool for something (no manual was included so I am not sure what this is) I was wondering what I had to do to properly expose this film with the light meter (which seems to work fine)? And some tips and tricks on how to use this Super 8 camera! Thanks a lot!!
  8. I know this is not super 8:) but I found an old double 8mm camera and new film to go with it (it is ISO100) so, I was wondering something. There is an ISO Guide on the side of the Revere Model 88 (example interior scene near window in the summer, bright is fstop 4) I was wondering, what is the ISO of the film in the 40s when this camera was made? Thanks!
  9. Sorry I am new to this:) and trying to learn fast! So, the original manual to the camera says that Tri-X Reversal Film 7278 works with all light sources. I have a brand new roll of Kodak Tri-X 7266.(same ISO) Is this the almost the same? Will it meter properly? Thanks!!
  10. Thanks! I did not know this about the Super 8 cartridges. Thanks!
  11. I just got a couple of Super 8 camera's from a local goodwill and I wanted to get into filming with real film instead! I got a VTG Kodak XL 362 (which has an automatic eye) and I bought a brand new roll of Kodak Tri-X Reversal Film 7266 I was wondering how to get the automatic eye to read the correct ISO of the film so the film won't be either overexposed or underexposed? (there are no settings on the camera to change ISO). Thanks alot!
