  1. Hi, Recently I bought this little projector - see photo bellow. I'm having trouble threading the film through it. My trial and error has only helped to damage the film. As this was made in Chicago, I'm using a power adapter reducing its voltage to 110v, since in my region the current is 220v. I'm saying because the bulb was gone after 1 or 2 minutes of use. I think it was due the long travel. Maybe it has shaken its springs too much. There is also what seems a glow of sparks coming out of the holes of the engine. Any help would be apprecciated. tks
  2. Just to let you know ive fixed it. Ive reassembled the internal zoom mechanism, which is very propense to problems, and put some graphite in the zones of friction.
  3. So, due to the lack of instruction, I've dismantled the lens to try to see the problem, but, unfortunately, the zoom ring is attached to an internal mechanism, and it couldn't be removed. I tried to open the body during a few minutes and couldn't find a proper way to do so. The body doesn't have screws! Maybe it is glued. Lubrication is not the problem as I could observe internally. It happens that the there is something obstructing internally the ring to move upward. I've read someone who had the same problem in this Bolex 350, but a long time ago and no answers. I guess this camera has this vulnerability as the decades go by. Does somebody know how a super 8 works in relation to the internal mechanism of the zoom? Any tip is highly welcomed!
  4. Got this Bolex super 8 recently, but the zoom is stuck at 40mm. Everything is operating nicely. I tried to force it a little but i was afraid to break it. Any ideia?
  5. Haha, probably. Thanks for the info you all. Glenn Brady I think youre right, though I've researched in several sites about copystand, lens, shutter assembly and didn't find anything similar to this one. Well, I'll keep it at the bottom of my drawer.
  6. That's fine. Actually the main problem is that I can't amount this lens to the camera. It does not fit. It may be designed for a different model.
  7. Thx for the tips. Im having trouble in focusing with the 75mm yvar with bellow extension. Im only getting focus in the viewfinder when the lens is very closed to the iris. When i moved the lens foward a bit, i get out of focus.

  9. Hi, I've bought a Bolex Rex 5 and it came with a Bellow Extension Unit and with this accessory (see picture) that I don't what it is used for. I couldn't find any information on the internet about it too. Any idea? Thanks in advance.
  10. Hello, I recently acquired a Braun Compact 500 in order to produce a short film to a contest. But I didn't find any information about this type of camera on the internet. I had an impulse and bought it for U$ 100. Since it is my first experience with Super 8 format, I'd like to know with someone has experienced to shot with this camera in particular, that knows something about it. I am very curious about the results of the film image itself and I'll take some time to get the cartridge processed. Thanks in advance. Here is the specs http://www.super8data.com/database/cameras_list/cameras_braun/braun_compact500.htm
