  1. I have 2 ea 1000' rolls on core. PM me if interested. Perforated by Wittner.
  2. Update: Purchased two used cable ends from someone who deals in Arri stuff, removed nuts, and put them into my connectors - with Loctite Blue!
  3. I have two arri 3.5 monitors that I use with my 416 and 235. I also have two curly cables 4 pin male to 4 pin male. They carry power and video in one cable. Today, I tried to demo my 416 with the monitor. But the 90 degree connector on the cable had come apart last time I put it in the pelican. I found my other cable, and incredibly, it had the same malady. After fussing for quite awhile, I realized the problem is that the nut is missing from both. I searched the bottom of my pelicans and didn't find either nut. WTF? The cables were quite expensive - maybe $200 each. I'm hoping not to scrap them. If anyone has these nuts on an old/ruined cable and is willing to sell, I'm interested. Thank you.
  4. Tim Tyler: Let me help you remember what your terms & conditions say, Tim. "You must register using your REAL NAME.That means your first name, a space, then your last name.If you don't use your real name, or you register with a name that looks like your real name but we find out is not your real name, your account will be permanently disabled. This forum is for discussing 'CINEMATOGRAPHY'.It is NOT for political, religious, or racial discussions, comments, points of view, etc. Please remember that we are not responsible for any messages posted. How did his "membership" get approved?2) User is trolling, and seems to be violating the second paragraph. When you allow trash like Isaac's post on your site, you're not acting in your own best interest:1) People generally don't like being around piss fights. When they play out on your site, people are turned off and are less likely to return and/or participate.2) The targets of trolls are less likely to participate. I posted manuals and tutorials in the past. Now that I know there are about three children who will spray graffiti (the stupid little icons) and denigrate most anything I post, I've shied away from dispensing materials and assistance in your forum.3) Reddit-like pissfighting just makes your site look bad. It's your site and you can do whatever you want. But I'd suggest you do your best to inject maturity when opportunities to do so arise. Dennis Toeppen
  5. Pfft...A-Minimas are fine. Pay no mind to people who denigrate everything that is discussed here.
  6. I shot a quick test film a few weeks ago. I was in too much of a hurry and didn't hit the aperture plate with the Giotto. So I wound up with some sort of flake dangling in the bottom right corner. Oops. If you're interested in the camera, please contact my broker, above.
  7. Please contact my broker, Barbara Holler, if you're interested. https://newprovideo.com/equipment/product/cameras-camcorders/arri-416-plus-camera-pkg-
  8. DP Owned / Never a Rental I bought this from a German DP in Dusseldorf in August 2013. I've shot about 10,000 feet with it since purchase. It is in excellent condition. It has been stored in my film vault at 65F/35%RH. Camera was checked out by Arri in Blauvelt NY on 6/16/23. Ground glass parallelism was adjusted and left front squishy button cluster was replaced to resolve intermittent functioning of one button. No other issues were noted. 9. Thanks. I didn't know about BB. They offer a surprising variety of services and they're pretty close to MSG/BH.
  10. Does anyone know who makes 16mm prints (3383) anymore other than Fotokem? They made some decent prints for me about ten years ago, but I've been taking a break from them lately.
  11. Just wondering if anyone has had positive experiences as a seller with any particular brokers? I sold a couple components through a broker in EU, and he was honest and competent. But there doesn't seem to be much action on the Arri film camera I have listed with him. I also have the camera listed with a broker in USA whose website doesn't really work properly. The guy doesn't seem to attempt to answer customer questions on his own, and he has forwarded some fairly dumb questions (ie basic specs) to me. If I'm paying 5-10% commission, I expect a broker to put a tiny bit of effort into the sale. Also, he has failed on a couple occasions to update price on listing. I wound up terminating his representation. I'm probably looking for something that doesn't exist, but I'd like to find a decent broker in USA.
  12. Two mags sold. Revised package includes three mags, all three new from Arri. Two mag boxes included, not sure what happened to the third one. Correction: They were new in 2013 and have been used no more than three times each, probably just once, when I wanted to have a full box of film with me (5 x 400') in 2019.
  13. How much do you want for the 6mm? Thanks.
  14. Still available - here, or through the Devil's Auction Site.
  15. You can have the last word, Tyler, because I know you'll never be quiet if you don't.
  16. New to Me: Kodak Film Lab Atlanta does loan A-Minima spools. Spooling costs $15 per 400' roll of stock. There is a $10 rental charge per A-Minima spool and a $150 deposit is required per spool. I confirmed this 6/4/23. This is a good move for them. Good work, Kodak.
  17. Correction, the sample 200T film was shot as ASA 32, pulled one stop.
  18. A-Minima Film Sale I have two freezers full of film and my goal is to get down to one freezer before upcoming move. Therefore, I am selling some of my A-Minima stock. You can likely find a way to supply yourself with film at a lower cost, ie by using used spools or loaner spools. If that appeals to you, I suggest you pursue that option. The film below is all spooled on brand-new spools, either by Eastman Kodak at their factory, or by Wittner in their clean room. Film tension is correct, and film is dust-free. Prices are subject to change in the future. PM any questions. Your A-Minima will likely require adjustment to work properly with this stock. Check with whomever services your A-Minima before buying. Here's a test film https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPLbay7gShM Note about Orwo: I can't remember if this was lubricoated or not. I don't recall it being problematic to run in A-Minima. I do recall that Tri-X does not run well in A-Minima.
  19. This camera has never been a rental. It was owned by a Dusseldorf DP until I bought it. Camera was serviced by Arri Munich shortly before purchase. I've run probably 5k-10k' throught it. It functions perfectly, with no registration problems, gate weave, or noises. In a perfect world, I'd sell this camera this month, before I move. Send me your sane offers. 20. A-Minima spools are flexible by design. * Spool sides must exert pressure against film pancake to prevent light leaks when the spool is "closed", ie not in the camera with the sprocket tires prying them open. * Spool sides must be able to be flexed open by the o-ring tires on sprockets which press against them. There is a ridge on the inside of each flange. Dragging the film through the ridges would wear/damage film edges, make noise, and potentially leave debris in film chamber. The sprockets/tires ride the chamfered flange of the spool sides and gently open the spool to allow film to exit/enter without contacting the ridges. If a spool is insufficiently flexible or insufficiently rigid, one of the above goals is not met. Spool sides seem to become more flexible the more they are used. The tabs that latch spool side to core eventually fail. Rough handling can break them on the first re-use. Kodak and Aaton likely devoted substantial effort to designing flanges with the correct amount of flex. Interesting that Kodak Atlanta and Colorlab loan spools. I'll have to check that out.
