  1. I love you Dom! I opened one up last year, if only you had documented the stripdown earlier... would have saved a handful of my remaining hair. Any chance of a supplemental showing the take apart and cleaning of the viewfinder tube/optics? Or should that not be attempted at all?
  2. Thank you for bringing this one up Erkan, I had been contemplating it for some time. Seems they are still available new from one source. I can live with a twiddly smooth aperture but when you say the results were "not bad", how do you mean it specifically? Not bad in comparison to other TV lenses? or compared to the Fujinon 1.8 / 7.5-75mm? or to other cine specific C mounts generally? If I'm reading it to mean not bad in your experience, it would be a good bet, but asking just making sure... :)
  3. LOL. Now if I were to be living in my dreams, or strike the lottery I'd go for 3, seeing as those are the colours planned. Then again, Tommy & Lasse could do one more hey? OK make it 4 if we have White as an option too... Hey where's the white one? I have half a roll of Julie on that one. But seriously, Black or gunmetal Grey would suffice. And Lasse, I know how things could be tweaked and twiddled forever and nothing ever is finished so a commitment to a date is important, but ergonomics and aesthetics wise, is it too late to work on the "box" a bit more? You know we all like to fondle our cameras... So here's a chance to make things sexy oozing shapes that has the stamp of real film on it, not have someone say ahh that an Amira (or whatever box they all look like nowadays)?
  4. Gratz on fixing it, nothing feels better than resurrecting something left for dead. PS: Would anyone (Dom?) perchance have a parts schematic or service manual for the Bolex 7.5 Macrozoom? I have one complete and in beautiful condition, working drive motor but unfortunately the PX13s were left in the tray and as expected the lightmeter circuitry is all fritzed. I am certain I can trace the fault and repair it but as the body is a clamshell swathed entirely in leatherette, I am hesitant to ruin the covering. Hoping a schematic would help me identify the screw locations so perhaps a minimally invasive procedure can be used to split the body.
  5. Hey Lasse, I'll take a red one and where do I pre-order? However the project turns out, realize that you are a very lucky man and cherish the very experience you're living right now. Best wishes to you and yours, Avery
  6. Hello, IMHO high battery consumption would mean that your camera is in need of a general service/lube, unless it was serviced recently vintage cameras usually have high friction due to old dried out grease/lubricants, dirt and dust, etc. That makes it draw more power to run, the cold makes it worse.
