Hi Everybody! I've been hired to shoot a parody video of Drake's Hotline Bling (http://www.theverge.com/2015/10/20/9572899/drake-hotline-bling-video) for a campaign. Obviously an LED light box would be too expensive, but I think could match the look if I build a box out of translucent white material and then light each wall separately through that. What material would be good for this? If you have better ideas on how to do this, that would be awesome also. Thanks! Noam

Thanks guys, I'll update you all when we have an answer. My 2nd did just tell me the card came out at lunch because they wanted to see some of the shots from the morning, but that the same one went back in the camera after, so maybe a new folder was created. Seems most likely.

Hey guys, Quick question about the Sony A7s I 1st AC'd on a music video last weekend, and the director just messaged me that some of the footage we'd shot had somehow disappeared. Basically, the files were named so that they were in sequence, but somehow a bunch of shots on the roll were omitted in between. For example, a shot we did in the morning was labelled 0067, and then a shot we did on the same roll 3 hours later was labelled 0068, which made it seem like I didn't roll the mag for any of the shots we did in between. I know I did though, because we watched playback on lots of them. I'm thinking the intermediating clips were saved on a different folder on the card for whatever reason, but the director and editor can't find them. Do any of you guys have experience with this happening? Has this camera ever just dropped a bunch of shots somehow? It'd be awesome if you guys know anything about this. Thanks!

HI everybody! I'm in talks with a yoga/fitness studio to shoot an exercise video for them. I've never worked on this particular facet of the film and television industry, but I reckon it could be a good experience. My first thought was to run three cameras, one on a tripod for wide "establishing" shots, one on the side on a Dolly/slider, and to fly one around on a Steadicam, and just let the instructors do their thing. Is this how exercise videos are done? Or do they use a single camera setup? Also, any recommendations on which camera to use would be appreciated!

Here's a fun thing I stumbled across. If you shoot in the cold, like I did in Calgary in December, you can get a natural and free fog machine, just by breathing! This was seriously totally unintentional, but it really added atmosphere to the scene. Only downside is that you'll have to brave the cold. Here's the trailer. The night scene with the baseball bat is the best example of this. Skip to the end if you care to see it.

Funny. I was actually planning to use headlights as well. Thanks for the tips though. That should help. Will the sola have its own battery, or will I need a solution?

Thanks. I guess LEDs are the way to go here. Reckon anything I pick up will be battery powered? I just need to flood the scene, but it doesn't need to be super pristine, as it's a sketchy alley that we're shooting in.

I'm shooting an outside scene with no access to a power outlet. This production is very small, so we won't have any generators or anything either. If you've ever dealt with something like this, I'd love to know what you did.
