  1. This is not strictly a film set rigging question but I think this forum might be my best bet at finding an answer. I've got a replica studio 5K that originally came from Restoration Hardware. It's one of those cast copies that houses a couple of Edison bulbs and you put it in your office. (https://rh.com/us/en/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod280223) Problem is the pin is not a junior pin, it's larger. Maybe 1 3/8" or so. I don't have the original stand that they sold with it and none of my actual combo stands will hold it because of the strange size. I can't see a way to remove the pin from the light itself. Is there a solution for mounting larger yoke pin sizes to a stand? Did old lights used to have larger pin sizes and they are being extra "authentic?"
  2. The stage is 25 feet long and 12 ft deep. Native ISO will be 800ASA.
  3. I'm lighting a 25ft stage next week and there are some power concerns so I'm going to be using two 1.2kW HMI Pars to light the stage from near the back of the room, one on either side about 45ยบ to the stage. I'm wondering that kind of kick I'm going to get out of a 1.2 par going through a 42x42 silk armed out from its lollipop. Will I lose too much of the HMI's punch from say, 30 feet away? Would a frame of 216 or 416 be better than the silk? This will be to supplement the room's existing lighting and to nicely fill the talent on stage.
  4. Zac, could you link me to the fotodiox bayo>mft adapter? I couldn't seem to find it. I've only been able to find these two: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ARRI-B-ARRIFLEX-BAYONET-to-M43-M4-3-MFT-PANASONIC-G-OLYMPUS-E/121224986192 http://www.ebay.com/itm/ARRI-B-ARRIFLEX-BAYONET-to-M43-M4-3-MFT-PANASONIC-G-OLYMPUS-E-/321028217281 which are both more expensive than the PL adapter.
  5. Yea I know. This particular lens will be used on a black magic pocket which has a sensor size similar to super 16. It vignettes ever so slightly but not too bad. I suppose I could look into a bayonet to mft adapter but I love the robustness of the PL mount. I think I'll probably grab a cheap adapter off ebay and take my chances. Good advice on having a rental shop check it out. Thanks!
  6. I recently acquired an Angenieux 5.9mm with an Arri bayonet mount. I would like to adapt it to PL but want to know how important it is to get the flange focal distance exact with a fixed focus lens. In other words, should I pay someone to have it professionally mounted and collimated or will a $100 screw on PL mount from ebay do fine with this sort of lens?
