Hello, My employer may soon be renting a Red Scarlet for me to use to record a live event, but I know close to nothing about how to use it. Does anyone have any tips/learning resources for a first time user? Also, what is the best gear to use, keeping a somewhat tight budget in mind? Thank you

Thanks for the reply, Phil. I tried using 5DtoRGB but the converted files have a lot more contrast, and I'm losing details in the shadows. I tried converting to ProRes and DNxHD.

Update: I also access to a Panasonic P2 if that would help.

Hello all, I know it's very difficult to get a good key with footage coming from a DSLR due to the 4:2:0 compression, soft edges, etc. I'm currently shooting church announcements videos on a black background, but I'd like to start using a green screen if possible. Right now, I'm using a 60D with a Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens. I will be using Premiere Pro CC and AE CC in post. Is there any way to accomplish this using my current setup? Thanks in advance.

So f stop is the amount of light that enters the lens and t stop is the amount of light that actually passes through it and reaches the sensor?

Hello all, I'm kind of new to cinematography in general, so excuse my ignorance... I'm looking into buying a lens for my DSLR and one lens says that it has an aperture of T1.5-22. I looked up some general info about what T-stop is, but could someone give me a better explanation of it and how it is different from f stop? Is it better to have a higher or a lower number?
