  1. Hello,

I'm wanting to buy my first camera cart and I'm looking for advice on which one to buy. I don't really have a budget but I just want to get the best bang for my buck. The one I have my eye on right now is the filmtools/magliner senior cart. Is there a better one to go with? Any recommendations on junior vs. senior size carts? Besides the cart itself...what about accessories?...Which ones are needed?

    Thanks in advance!

    :)

  2. Miguel, I will definitely look into rental house internships. I'm sure it's a great way to meet camera assistants and gain contacts. Thanks for the advice!

Satsuki, My goal is to eventually work on mostly feature films and television but I wouldn't mind commercials and such while working my way up the crew ladder. I'm really starting to think LA might be the right choice for me especially in the long run. Thank you for your comments!

  3. Hello,

I will be graduating film school in less than two months. I am, of course, an aspiring camera assistant. I am having a hard time deciding where to move after I graduate. The school I attend is located in Florida which has little to no film industry anymore. I have no choice but to move. Based on your experience or knowledge...where would be the best place for me to move to get starting jobs such as Camera PA/Trainee gigs? LA? Atlanta? I know that there is really no right or wrong place to be...I just need a little bit of guidance. Thanks. :)

  4. Hello,

I am the 1st AC on a short film that's coming up and I was wondering if anyone has some advice when it comes to shooting on beach locations?

We are using a combination of film and digital. Cameras include Arri Alexa, Arricam LT, and Arriflex 235.

I believe we are using just film while on the beach and it looks like it's going to be mostly handheld at this time.

    Thanks,

    Erik

  5. I have the Large sized Arri Production Unit Bag. It's kind of expensive but it is one solid of a bag. It does have large pockets around the outside like you are looking for and one pocket on the back that is perfect for things such as space blankets. The only downside to the bag is that the main compartment is just one open space. It'd be nice if it had seperate compartments or pouches along the inside. Overall, I love it!
