  1. Hey guys! Im shooting a project this summer and wanted to hear what you guys have to say about a particular set up we are looking into. I want to create a glow behind a tree line in the parking lot of a motel. We are shooting on the Alexa mini at 2.8. Right now I have a 12k about 50ft behind the tree line on the ground tilted up. What Im hoping to achieve is a glow in the sky behind the trees. Right now at 50ft the t12 direct flooded gives me a 52ft beam spread and a f8.7. I have heard of people putting big lamps behind building to give a similar effect. Will it give me any exposure in the sky and if not how would you guys suggest getting that glow? Would it make more sense to shoot the 12k in to a 12x12 ultra bounce that is rigged directly behind the tree line bouncing the light away and into the sky? Let me know Cheers J
  2. Hello beautiful people, I'm currently prepping a feature for August and a portion of the film is set around a pool at night so we were thinking it would be great to have light coming from the pool, but the problem is that there is no pool light installed. I've never played with underwater lights or installed a pool light so was hoping someone out there would be willing to let me know how it could be done. They key here is not to have the scene light by the pool but just to have something so it's not a dark mess. Something that can be done quickly and safely. I was thinking some simple I could put onto the bottom the pool or even a consumer rate pool light that is simple to install but has a decent output. Thanks in advance! J
  3. Im new and excited to learn everything I can about cameras and have been looking into them for about 1 year now but still haven't been able to understand the difference between a CMOS sensor or an MOS sensor. I know there are different sizes and all but if some one could write out the different sizes and ratios of them that would be ver helpful. Please help! Thanks J
  4. Hey, Just wondering if someone could clear up the difference between the two kinds of light meters and what kind of film maker would use one or the other. Also if anyone know some cool light to shadow ratios they would like to share that would be much appreciated. Cheers J
