  1. I worked out that I was running the projector with the heat shield in position. My old bell and howell did not have this feature. I have still to work out its use. It definitely overheated causing as you suggest the grease to run which I have cleaned up. Thankfully I have run the projector successfully for a few hours now while I transfer my old 16mm movie to my digital camera. All is well. Thanks
  2. Thanks so much for your help, it's helped me understand how the projector works. I have moved the lever to run which moves the heat shield out of the way. I live and learn. Thanks again
  3. Hey, I am using for the first time a Bell and Howell filmosound TQI and a small perforated metal disc has dropped in front of the lamp. It is on a spring and will not stay out of the way of the projection. What is its purpose and how may I retract it so it stays out of the way. Also a creamy fluid has arrived around the area oil maybe, is this significant. Can anyone help
