  1. I've just been on a small shoot today and half way through filming with the Sony A7Rii it forces me to re-format the SDXC card... Otherwise I can't film. So I re-format it as I had to film and all the footage was wiped. This has happened twice now... Trying to recover the footage - any recommendations?? And WHY is this happening? Thanks!!
  2. Might try and get it to 60 (me) and 40 (them). Is a 40 minute drive to this place, which I would need to do. R:E Insurance - I haven't insured the camera yet, I assume I would need to insure it for my personal use. Then they would need to insure it for their hiring out etc...? Thanks, Charlie
  3. Hi, I am in touch with a hire house who want to hire out my new Sony A7RII. The cut would be 50/50 - is this a good deal or not so good? What do you think? Thanks!
  4. I was thinking if the light source came from out of the frame - above - there wouldn't need to be a frame at all. It just comes from above so to say. Which would be the best - Arri 1.2KW HMI, Arri M8 or Arri 2.5KW HMI??? Love the shot Stefano!
  5. Thanks Satsuki! Yes - will be easy to get the light up high - so maybe I have it out of frame as don't have the budget to rig a big window etc. Would you suggest a 2K HMI? or 4K? On the desk will be an old computer monitor, which I want to slightly light the actors face. And will also have a magnifier lamp. Thanks!

  7. Thanks for the reply - sounds great! The office location/room is a large dark space (picture below). Where the desk/man will be is in front of a large DJ booth which is positioned slightly off the ground - around 15 - 20 feet - so ideal to place the light source. There is the option to have the source in shot. Would the light then need to be diffused through a large silk? The space isn't too wide - so I don't want the light to spill to far to the side and reveal not so nice walls/things.
  8. I am shooting two scenes next week set in a Seedy waiting room and office. Shooting on the Sony A7RII Locations - Waiting Room INT. https://www.flickr.com/photos/88377241@N06/albums/72157656792164673 OFFICE/Nightclub/Rooms etc https://www.flickr.com/photos/88377241@N06/albums/72157659120247681 Have attached a picture of the effect I'm going for in the Office. The setup for the office/surgery is a man sat at a large desk, and a young girl walks in. I was thinking how to achieve this - would Kino Flo's with daylight tubes create a similar effect? Would be great to hear your thoughts and advice.
  9. Hi, Am starting a new project, which involves capturing a camera flash. What is the best way to capture a camera flash? Thanks, Charlie
  10. And it is such a great size - tiny! Yes... Will wait for the Loxia to expand. Will go for the 24mm 1.4 Rokinon - the Cine ones are around $200 more - and the glass is the same it seems.
  11. Just got the Loxia 50mm through and it feels/looks amazing - can't wait to see the results. In terms of a temporary 24 or 25mm lens until the Loxia line expands - what would you recommend? Thanks
  12. Awesome - thanks! Didn't buy new - found one on Ebay for £200 less than retail - although it is used (but in very good condition/looks new). Now just onto finding at 20-28mm lense - thinking of something temporary until Zeiss expand the Loxia range and there would hopefully be a 24mm.
  13. Currently gone for the 50mm Loxia F.2 - do you think this is a far superior choice to the Zeiss Planar 50mm f1.4 ZF.2? Looking for a good 21-28mm prime at the moment. Thanks!
  14. Thanks for those. Having trouble with the site. What do you think about the 28mm F2.0? Can't see the sharpness.
