  1. Okay, so lets say, hypothecitally, that I made a good feature. What determines it's worth? And who would buy it?
  2. I just saw HUSH(2016) yesterday, and I think it will be worth watching for you too. We get glimpses of how it actually is to live with a disability, which connects us to the story in a deeper way. As story goes, I like to think that beginning a film with a trauma, can be quite interesting. Throw the viewer into an angst-attack or if they had Philemophobia (fear of kissing), into a POV clip of a lips closing in on the camera, and the person trying to shy away, before one cuts and goes to a more trivial part of the story.
  3. Thank you for the explanation. Most of what I shoot is under 5 minutes, so storage isn't a problem. For now, anyways.
  4. You are certainly entiteled to your opinion :)
  5. Fantastic. There is emotion all over it, and the music fits well. Particularly liked the car window scene.
  6. Are you just saying that because you think it was shot on film? To TS. Some of the shots are pretty, some are kind of shoddy, with weird angles and camera shake. I do like the look of the picture though. Keep going!
  7. Yeah, foley sounds. Wow, that would be great! Ill PM you!
  8. Good evening guys. So, I am looking into optimizing what I get out of my RAW files. And I am not sure I am doing that right now. My workflow now, is 2,5k RAW in Resolve, and then exporting for further editing in Premiere and AFX. What kind of bitrate would you use going from Resolve into Premiere? And what is sufficient for web and cinema use? Thanks!
  9. There are people everywhere making money off of film. All kinds of film. Heck, I have been in the business for less than a year, and I'm making money on film. Not the kind of money that will buy me a house, but I figure I'll get there. It's not that hard, if you're decent at networking, selling and willing to go the extra mile. And honestly, I would much rather be on a passionate route of being a director, than to work some hellish job that will get me nowhere. Even if it takes me 10 years to get to where I want to be. Fun fact. It took me about 3 months of talking to people and making phone calls to get work for two of the biggest restaurant chains here in my country. Is that comparable to working on a blockbuster? Hell no, but it is me working on my passion.
  10. I guess it depends on definition, but people are making good money on music videos and commericials, and I think we could agree that they both are short films.
  11. Hey guys. What kind of adapters are you using? Will an Arriflex S adapter work on the Arriflex B?
  12. Or I could crop the image slightly. I want to see how it works before I invest more into it.
  13. Thanks for the input guys. Just got a 12-120 from Ebay, and a converter from Arriflex to m43. Hopefully this can be a nice allrounder. At least it was very affordable.
  14. Yeah, I have the 85mm t1.5 cine. Great lens, but it's very long on this sensor :) I am looking into something wide at the moment. Under or around 10mm.
  15. Thank you for the input. I found a few Angenieux 12-120 now. That would be great with a Cameflex to m43 adapter.
  16. I recently aquired a BMCC, which lends a couple of questions. Now, I see that it is common to use adapters with this camera. Which lenses are great choices for this camera? And are there fully manual zooms under $1000? Also, is Metabones speedbooster with EF lenses a good option, or are the lenses just too big for the sensor? Thanks.
  17. Ha, thats clever! I best get me a decent recorder then. And there is always websites like sounddogs etc.
  18. I have been picking my sound effects from different sources on the internet, but I was wondering what the usual sources are for the industry?
  19. One can always learn useful stuff at school, but don't rely on it getting you a job. Experience and previous work will get you jobs. Hustling from the bottom to the top.
