  1. Nothing like a room temperature Gatorade after a long day of child abuse

  2. This point has had me in confusion for a while though... Is there solid documentation of someone trying and failing that task with Vegas?
  3. Might sound extremely amateur for this, but I love Sony Vegas' workflow and I hope this program lives on steadily.
  4. I'm not totally certain on your question, but video from a 5D would not be considered HDR (if it is, that is a really low standard for high dynamic range). Maybe if Magic Lantern was involved having it record "RAW" it might get that title.
  5. From what I've gathered, people are satisfied with over 12 stops of dynamic range when it's time to color grade. Some camera companies stretch the truth a bit with that statistic though. As for viewing the finished product, I'm not concerned with how much dynamic range there is, as long as it's not abysmal. I'm sure someone else replying to this will object to that last point.
  6. If you have the cash, look into the GTX 1080. How many drives do you have running in that array to get it that fast?
  7. Obviously not an expert on lenses, but regardless of focal length or aperture settings some of my lenses flare up way more than others. I was wondering if there was any cheap glass out there that flared up a lot, might come in handy for a music video shoot one day. Preferably PL and EF mount if possible. As always, thank you.
  8. Closest thing I could answer with is this link featuring multiple before/afters, one of which includes a sample from the feature "Transporter 2" http://www.crowboy.com/evilgenius/videoarticle_premiere.html A step to take past this article is looking up films shot digitally with "color grading" after it. Or look up color graders with sizable portfolios in the digital era with the phrase "before and after" next to them.
  9. Uh, I personally never did. I bought digital cine lenses and never looked back.
  10. I don't doubt that, but maybe only one of the cameras you mentioned are in my price range. lol (recently got a RED used for very cheap)
  11. I used to shoot with a ton of FDs on my DSLRs. Great for the price, but the ones with a real price saving difference are so soft you can't mix them with other sets. I've actually wondered myself why the aperture wouldn't change when I rotated the iris ring. Nevertheless, love the external materials for the price.
  12. Hey man, if the consensus hates; they hate. And 2001 was a nice year for movies, that was just off the top of my head.
  13. I think Phil had the closest thing to what I was talking about. Movies I had in my head for this are titles like: Josie And The Pussycats (great satire on both mainstream marketing and counter-culture) Not Another Teen Movie (one of the only funny parody movies) Freddy Got Fingered (experimental comedy that remains a cult cult classic among comedy writers)
  14. 17th assistant cameraman of the latest Fetty Wap feature

  15. That sounds awesome, perfect for my budget. Thanks!
  16. Fun thread where the title says it all. I personally dislike the term "guilty pleasure" because it implies shame over enjoying a piece of media. Preferably titles that aren't way underground. Love to hear you guys' picks.
  17. I identify as a NotAnotherTeenMoviesexual

  18. Does laying the medical freezer packs over it really help? Read somewhere that a guy was doing that for every shoot.
  19. Well no I completely agree that a digital camera should be as silent as possible, but an image like RED for the low end of 4 digits has my hands tied. Not sure if there's anything of the same price matching that image/resolution/framerate. If I had to pay retail, I'd look completely elsewhere if the camera I was dropping 10k on made noise.
  20. Not sure if anyone has a recorded sample of this, but I've read people going back and forth saying the RED fan is either "awful" or "not that bad". Around what time in shooting does the fan kick into high gear? And how loud can it really be? Thanks.
  21. Would this mean that certain PL lenses for 16mm would no longer display any vignetting?
  22. Looks all good. Also liking the Beastie Boys spot in this trailer.
