I was wondering what the main differences between Pizar RX lenses compared to Kern Sitar RX lenses? I often see the Pizar lenses selling for much lower on ebay. Are Kern lenses sharper and superior? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

yes, you can most definitely use that lens with you Bolex. Probably my favorite lens to shoot on

ok good to know! Correct focus ring reaches infinity but it's not sharp. It's not the camera because I've tested on 2 different Bolexs and my other 10mm lens is sharp on both. Thanks for the hep, Dom.

Hi Everyone, I just purchased a really nice kern switar 10mm preset. Unfortunately it won't focus to infinity. I was wondering if it was worth keeping and having a tech service it, or should I just ask for a refund. Is it fairly easy to fix? Thanks for the help

hey! yes like i mentioned above the gate was slightly too large and gave the film a bit of a wiggle. Apparently it's not that uncommon on the REX 5. Hope that helps!

great stuff as usual Ben! I've had a similar issue when I loaded my Bolex outside during the day. Seems like it snuck though the daylight spool. Did you load outdoors?

hey everyone, I'm shooting a doc on 16mm with a Bolex and i have a bunch of rolls of 250D I'm going to be working with. The location we're filming at is giving us a reading at around f1.4-2 so I was hoping to rate it at ISO 400 and push it a stop to close the lens down a tad. Anyone here done this with successful results? Would it better to rate it at 250 and just lift it in post? Thanks guys, really appreciate the advice!
