  1. Hi Carl Regarding spectrophotometers & flicker meters I personnaly prefer Gossen Mavospec Base ergonomy, more on-set use oriented and quicker to use. UPRTEK are also accurate spectrophotometers (same accuracy than Gossen spectrophotometer), but more laboratory and industrial production oriented. I mainly check flicker main frequency, for safe shutter speed and frame rate calculations, flicker percent et flicker waveform to estimate if flicker amount is high or low. Hope it helps...
  2. Hi Carl One solution is to use a spectrophotometer with flicker measurement. Gossen Mavospec Base can do it. UPRTEK has one too. https://gossen-photo.de/en/mavospec-base/ Having flicker main frequency evaluation (neglecting harmonics influence), you can choose most secure framerates and shutter speeds. 3. Hi Craig We made last year an independent study on photometric and colorimetric performance of LED lights published by CST in France (English & Spanish translations included) : http://www.cst.fr/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Etude-CST-LED-2016-rapport-final-Internet-v2.pdf For this study we used 4 different spectrophotometers : Sekonic C700 UPRTEK MK350N+ Minolta CL-500A (laboratory spectrophotometer) Specbos 1211 (laboratory spectrophotometer) We measured the Magenta/Green bias with the UPRTEK, because it was the more accurate. There are 2 UPRTEK spectrophotometers usable for film industry with the Magenta/green calculation : UPRTEK MK350N+ UPRTEK CV-600 We didn't use the SEKONIC C-700 to evaluate the magenta/green bias because there was a problem with the former C-700 firmwares. Maybe the last firmware update solve it ? Regards Yann Cainjo DP, Photographer | Paris

An independent study on photometric and colorimetric performance of LED lights published by CST in France (English & Spanish translations included) with reference data from kino, tungsten and hmi jokerbug : http://www.cst.fr/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Etude-CST-LED-2016-rapport-final-Internet-v2.pdf It is an update of a former study (2014, only in French but same layout) : http://www.cst.fr/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/etude_projecteur_LED_maj-20-01-15.pdf Yann Cainjo DP, Photographer | Paris
  6. +1 @Jean for Sekonic C-700 and UPRTEK CV-600 Don't buy colormeter (C-500). It work only for incandescent lighting... Better to use a spectrophotometer (Sekonic C-700 & UPRTEK CV-600) for LED, HMI/MSR and fluo
