  1. Yes, forgot to say, it is a regular 16, there was no conversion made. I bought it from a former embassy employee who claimed the camera had been barely used, and it looked true. Of course, it needed adjustments that were made by Ekton. You can see some images shot with it here : https://vimeo.com/209472951
  2. It was Ekton in Amsterdam, and I couldn't have been happier with their service. Fast, with a late demand from my end, efficient, dedicated, they spent 6+ hours nonstop getting it working properly, and finally for a reasonable price. Absolute recommendation. http://www.etkon.com/

  10. Hi, I'm in France. Price do not include shipping. Paypal possible. Photos available via email. Hand Grip with release button 350$ Nice and practical grip handle for Eclair ACL II 16mm camera. Has signs of use, but nothing dramatic. The switch works. Clean electrics inside. Kinoptik fully orientable viewfinder 350$ The best, fully orientable viewfinder for Eclair ACL camera. From an ACL II. All movements are smooth. There was some fungus inside that was cleaned. Hence the optics are not perfectly clean & clear, there are some light dust and some light abrasion of the coatings. Not really noticeable when using the VF. Still, as-is. Cameflex adapter mount 200$ Used 400ft french mag, needs CLA 50$ Used 400ft french mag, looks and works ok 150$ 16mm magazine for Eclair ACL II camera. This is a 400ft / 120m magazine, french made. I have tested it with film briefly. It looks good and smooth. Once again though, untested and unguaranteed. For all I know it might need service. Delsey case 200$ Sturdy Delsey case for Eclair ACL II camera with 2x400ft mags, Angénieux zoom and accessories. The case has seen use and is far from perfectly clean but it can still be used without problem. Lots of scratches on the exterior, 1 screw missing from one of the 4 feet, 1 bump (only external, a testimony to the strength of it). Inside is OK but looks a bit dirty. No locking keys included. MIMUL 75fps motor drive 350$ Needs CLA (lubrication, function is OK) Eclair ACL II body with lighter meter 250$ Needs CLA (lubrication, function is OK)
  11. Hi again, thanks for previous help on getting started with my "new" Eclair ACL II... I have two 400ft mags and both seem to have a faulty sensor. Not sure the word is right, what I am referring to is the springed arm that is connected to the film counter window on the side of the mag. On both of them mags, the spring seem to be working backwards. As i understand it, it should push the arm towards the center, to stay on the film left on the spool as it roll away. But on my mags the spring pulls towards the exterior, away from film. So it's useless... I've taken it apart down to the spring and I just can't get it... any help would be much appreciated. Thanks !!!
  12. A Delsey case in excellent condition, adapter for Eclair ACL II, Angénieux zoom and 2 magazines (400ft). Keys included. Contact me for more info and pics. I'm in France but can ship worldwide.
  13. I know ! thanks, I will definitly come over, I just thought there might be some people willing to get rid of extra film.
  14. Hi, i'm trying to cut costs and working on a film project shot entirely on Kodak 7222. If anybody has some for sale, i'm interested. thanks Constantin
  15. By the way, the center round knob on the picture of my motor can be rotated manually to move the shutter or the mirror out of the window.
  16. Thank you all for your answers and insights, i'm reading if not always commenting. I have a black right hand handle that indeed helps a lot. I guess i was just surprised that the overall shape of the camera wasn't more ergonomical around the shoulder. My only other serious 16 experience was an Aaton XTR and the crevice between the body and the magazine is perfect to lodge the shoulder... I thought it'd be similair on the Eclair. Anyway, i'll probably drop the camera at a pro for checking it up once i've got a lens. I'll leave it to him to see if everything's ok with the motor. I do not really want to change it anyway, since, as i understand, it's a better one to have for 400ft magazines (which i have and intend to use).
  17. Here is a photo. . I too thought of the sealed screw they mention in the manual, (hence the tweaked looks) but I'm not sure. There are red-painted screws on the other side of the motor and i'm wondering if they're not talking about them. I don't know.
  18. Thanks for your insights... about the changing motor issue. There is 3 captive screws on the left hand side of the motor, the manual explicitely says 3, and advices to simply unscrew them to loosen and remove the motor. But on my ACL II, the bottom screw is... absent, and replaced by a filling of what looks like aluminum or lead. There is simply no screw there. Both other will loosen and the motor does loosen a bit, but not entirely, still caught by that third attachment point. Does that look like I simply can't change the motor on that camera ? isn't it strange ?
  19. Hi everyone, thanks for having me. I'm new to cinematography, being a still photog for about 20 years now. I have a tight budget to shoot 16mm and bought an Eclair ACL II kit for 500€, including Angenieux zoom, 2 400ft mags, kinoptic viewfinder, case, battery. The camera has hardly ever been used. It seems to run OK for now, i've not used it yet really. My intention is really to use the camera on the shoulder most of the time, so I was kind of surprised when trying it. I have a MIMUL motor, which is actually large and seems to take the place of the shoulder between the body and the mag. Am I doing something wrong ? or is there really no good way to shoulder an ACL II & MIMUL combination ? If not, is it possible to replace the motor for the standard one ? It might be getting me on another problem as I'd like to shoot long takes, so I'd be happy to keep the sturdier motor to use the 400ft mags... but just to know theoretically, can I remove the MIMUL ? it doesn't look like it. thanks for your help !
