that lens came off a "M" camera... when I put the lens on a REX camera... focusing thru the camera's reflex system... then looking into the Zoom's reflex system... the Zoom is slightly out of focus... very slight but noticeable. and vice-versa

that's an 8mm film block and turret... I machined out the inside so the shutter could rotate freely, and dang, it seems to line up... have shot some film tests and made some minor tweaks...

the flange on this lens is shallower than RX lenses... make sense?

I’ve created a hybrid… combining 8mm and 16mm parts.

I recently discover the joys of the reflex viewer up stream from the lens iris. This allows the image to stay bright, not affected by the iris. So, I took converted super16 and machined out an 8mm film block. The lens’s frame mask was converted to super16 aspect ratio.

It all seems to line up… anybody see any potential problems???

Dom... Could you please tell me how to adjust/reset the Over-Wind Stop mechanism... I've recently lost 2 cameras I think due to some spring issue... In both cases... while holding in my hands... the spring exploded inside and I could hear it coming unwound.

Yes I did see that... when you see thru with a lens at a scene it's not apparent at all... it's is very slight, however it is there...

I've been busy experimenting with optics lately and have come across a method to get a little more than 10X viewer form a 6X viewer. This what is what I go...

It seems that a Bolex can come with one of 3 basic viewfinders 6X, 10X and 13X...

What are those ratings based on??? The width of the image???

and then if you upgrade the optics... How do you measure the size?

SORRY - misspelled Tripod in the Title line...

I have a Bolex style quick release on a rig ready tripod mount.

My question for all you camera guys:

How should this mount on a tripod?

From the top downward or use the tripod's screw and attach from the bottom??

I've seen it done both ways... But what do you prefer???

It looks like the conversion was done by Golden Camera Services. I know of about 8 others somewhere out there. They also appear on ebay from time to time... have not see one in over ten years thou.
