  1. OK... maybe this is the feedback I was looking for:...

Make the ICONS bigger and easier to see...

Make the ICONS more clearly defined to understand what they represent...

the "SUPER 16" this denotes the film format as the "H16" represented 16mm vs 8mm

    Anything else...

I will make these revisions and report back... STAY TUNED!!!

  2. Oh great feedback fellas!!!

Jean-Louis ok, yeah it's a classic design but outdated!... and not many know what those letters are supposed to represent. Made more as an international icon graphic. and some are backwards or no longer used. IE: P for pixelation... outdated term.

Glenn Brady - Yes, these will go on the converted cameras and engraved metal anodized aluminum.

Simon Wyss - Yes, it's ok... you can stay back there...

    thanks again guys...

  3. Hello Again, Dr. Bolex here again,

Anybody have any suggestions on an ALTERNATE power supply for the Bolex EBM's?

Since the standard issue battery is not cheap but worse very hard to find.

SO, what about a simple 12V 3A DC power converter plugs into any 110 AC outlet. Then can be plugged directly in the camera... Also an option is to have batteries for use in the field.

    Thought?... what am i missing?

  4. Hello Jean-Louis,

Well yes it does have an on/off... it'd on the grip holder... that where the battery would go... but instead I'll make a plug same as the ones already there where you connect the power supply (A/C)

there could be an out board battery pack just not the original ones.

    thought?

  5. Hey camera people!!!

Some EBM cameras have battery power supply... anyone have any thoughts on just switching that out for a regular 12V power supply like what's on you laptops.

only gotcha i see is you need power!... these batteries that are made for it are expensive and hard to find.

Well I was going to do that to the EBMs unless someone can tell me why not!

    Thanks, Your replies are welcome,

    Arthur!

  6. Thanks Ted!!!

    Thanks for looking...

    Arthur!

  7. Hi Michael,

The conversion was done at the shop of Dr. Bolex.... I made the conversion plans and specs and had the work done there myself.

Did it all the modifications by the numbers and seem to have worked great... However I will say brought me to my knees machining the new parts.

  8. OK... Guys thanks for all the wonderful feedback on this topic...

But here's the thing, film give you that "film look" if you will... where digital can but you gotten mess with it and know what you're trying to achieve let alone have the tools to do it... where as film just gives you that look... with all it's flaws and imperfections. You can get that charm the ability to suspend disbelief that movies deliver and that's the attraction to film. Along with the mystique of film production... most equipment has a high gee-whiz factor and that too is an attraction. As far as old vs new... well it's only money... The things is you want your camera to be reliable. That's why old equipment must be rebuilt to insure this confidence.

  9. Very interesting Pav!!! How old is the redux of the Ikonoskop camera??? I seem to recall seeing it somewhere... Yes, it has a very carry a high degree of hotness... But all that and still no reflex viewing... Would it not be top on the list to have reflex viewing and even an option for HD signal output to video assist display? I can understand the noise... but you enter a whole new level when you try to silence a mechanism the was never meant to be silent... That is the big line in the sand...
