  1. Neither do the vendors believe Daniel Teoli is going to purchase one, that's why they stopped replying to his hundreds of questions. I wish people here would also stop replying to his clickbaity threads.
  2. Thank you Uli for the shout-out, and thank you @alexandre favre for letting me measure your Arriflex 2C. I modified the part, so it should also work for 400ft mags, but I would need to check the dimensions again on a physical 2C, as there were some differences between Ull's and Alexandre's 2C. 🐌
  3. Do you want to rent a 16mm or 35mm camera? ARRI London The Unit Bag Cameraworks MCX Films Emmyland etc You might want to call them first, as they might not rent their gear to visitors, or to people with no film camera experience.
  4. ...with a sneak peek at their new camera development:
  5. this is wonderful, I love that you mounted it on a cutting board 🤩
  6. I love your designs Aapo, reminds me of Apollo era hardware 😍 🚀
  7. just out of curiosity, where did the brand new cameras come from? Did ARRI get rid of the last new old stock? I've seen a brand new ARRI 435 Extreme in their certified pre-owned store recently, and wondered why they don't keep it for their rental service.
  8. @Daniel D. Teoli Jr. have a look at Friedemann's post, where he builds a Raspberry pi board for a 12 bit 4K frame scanner: https://www.filmvorfuehrer.de/topic/31851-challenge-framescanner-für-350€-bauen/page/15/#comment-398126 For now he used a S8 projector, but plans to also document to use his board with a 16mm Bauer P8 projector. His personal website: https://www.filmkorn.org/ein-12-bit-4k-filmscanner-fuer-ca-350e/
  9. Most of them ran at 500 fps, that's 32 seconds of footage with a 400 ft roll. Considering the camera has to come up to speed first, I'd say maybe half of that, so 16 seconds for a 400ft roll.
  10. I watch this maybe once a year - it's marvelous high speed footage (mostly 16mm) that documented various engineering aspects during a shuttle launch
  11. Get a 10bit log DPX scan of your negative and adjust the contrast to your liking. Alternatively print your negative onto a high contrast fine grain print stock and scan that one.
  12. You can download the technical datasheets from Kodak's website. https://www.kodak.com/en/motion/products/camera-films
  13. you have stronger fingernails than I do ? but I agree, I felt uncomfortable using the screwdrivers to press the rollers in - two plastic cards maybe ?
  14. i ran into the same problem - what i did was press in the one spring roller that has the locking lever and lock it into the pressed in position. Now you only need to press in the two other spring rollers, which you can do with two flathead screwdrivers, while installing the turret. don't forget to apply the kluber dampening grease before.
  15. If you want to build up a small business, great, but I think Foma should do a Kickstarter and see if they can get minimum order in. No need for you to take all the financial risk. That way Foma could gauge the demand, and decide to offer their stocks in 16mm on a regular basis. Basically what Lomography does with their funky film stocks.
  16. The battery arrived and it works for me - although I don't run a 400ft mag with my 16ST. For this you might have to go with the bigger pack which outputs up to 6 Amps.
  17. thank you so much Alexandre - Uli's 2C also has a PL mount, so that's a perfect match.
  18. i will buy the TalenCell 12V 6000MAh and tell you how it went
  19. Looking for an Arriflex 2C in Switzerland for taking a few measurements - want to design an accessory for Uli. I would need it for 2-3 days - to confirm the fit with a 3D printed mock-up. Thank you.
  20. I will try the F80 resin by Resione, once I get my resin printer. It stays flexible even in cold temperatures.
