About Me

Completely driven by and immersed in the art of cinematography, I am Karthick Raj ST from Chennai, India. Being dyslexic I quickly fell in love with camera as it was a relief from the stress of academics. Also camera allowed me to express myself without any restrictions. Started as a hobby and a form of comfort, my relation with camera slowly grew and before realizing, it flipped from just a hobby to a career option.

I opted to learn the insights of this field by enrolling myself into the undergraduate and other courses. On this journey I explored many cinematographers whose works fueled my passion and admiration for cinematography. Emmanual Lubezki’s “Children of men” left a lasting impression on me. His unreal framing using natural light and long takes is like an artist  uses paintbrush on canvas. I too want to create masterpieces of cinematography using my creative sensibilities.

And currently doing ASC Vision Mentorship Program under Charlie Lieberman, ASC.
