  1. If you are UK based, https://www.gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money. Tick the Statutory Interest box and the date from is the date you issued the invoice, NOT the date you did the job. In the claim just state you did work for £xxx on such a date for the Defendant. Then say when you issued the invoice and for how much. Then say it hasn't been paid and that you claim £xxx for payment of the invoice.
  2. HireHop are now offering a free version of their cloud based Equipment Hire Software (www.hirehop.com). It is the most powerfusl and easy to use software available by a long shot.
  3. Use a Disto, the laser ones are more accurate, but more expensive. If you are going to use it outside, make sure you get one with a bigger range as they are more powerful and work better in sunlight. Ultra-sonic ones are far cheaper, have a lower distance range, however they work in all brightness conditions, so sunlight doesn't effect them. If you need mm perfect, go laser, if you need to the nearest few inches, go with a ultra-sonic one.
  4. Did something similar with a car years ago but we used theatre batten lights mounted on two long lengths of truss (one either side). The lights were then chased using a smooth fade between groups of cells (otherwise you get a stutter effect). We used battens as the cells were close together and we could group more of them for larger passing light objects, or smaller groups for smaller ones. It is important to do smooth fading in and out as you chase otherwise you get that stutter effect of shadows and light. The problem with moving head lights is that a moving light comes from one position and you suffer from a beam angle, whereas the battens actually provided "moving" light in the direction we wanted.
  5. New here, just saw this post come up on a web search and realised I'm a member so offering some input, albeit a bit late. I work for a couple of companies and both have recently switched to the Hirehop software to manage their equipment rentals. They both seem to constantly rave about it.
