  1. I have an Aaton XTR Prod with an Aaton VideoSync Assist. I usually just use the viewfinder but recently thought I was use the video tap. When I plug an external monitor (black magic video assist 5") in via sdi it does not show an image. Is there something that I am missing? I thought it would be pretty simple just plug and play, but it doesn't seem to be so unless I'm making a simple mistake. Either way I would be extremely grateful for any help.
  2. Hello, I'm looking for a super16 lens that would be equivalent to 35mm in 35 format. Preferably I would want either an Optar Illumina or Zeiss 16mm since I have other Illumina lenses and it would match well. I would be open to something a little wider too like a 12mm. If there are no sellers, does anyone know a good source to buy such lenses?
  3. Thank you guys so much. The help and wisdom is greatly appreciated!
  4. Hey all! I'm prepping for a short film that I'll be shooting with an Aaton XTR Prod. I've never used 100' spools of film but it would benefit me to be able to use 100' lengths of film. The problem is I honestly don't know if they can be used on this camera and don't have the budget to buy a roll just to test it. Has anyone used this combo before? If so can you explain how to do so? (A video showing how to load the spools would be ideal). Thanks!
  5. Can you share what lenses were used? Thanks and great job on the film.
  6. I feel a little late to the party but I enjoyed the trailer as well. Congrats Jeff. Is a Blu Ray or DVD available? I would love to see the full movie.
  7. I see what you mean. I was quite confused when I saw this message again (after seeing the answer to the original question). But to be clear I won't double triple or quadruple post again.
  8. Sorry like I said I'm new to the forum and the common practices weren't really spelled out.
  9. Hello all! I'm new to this website and am excited to start participating in discussions. I have posted this in a few different places not knowing which would be the best place for it. I thought this may be a good place since this is about film. (Sorry for the length and thank you). I am going to be working on a project soon and want to shoot super 16mm. I have been looking at cameras online to buy and have come across some decently priced Aaton XTRs from various countries outside the U.S. My concern is that some sellers have mentioned that they are PAL cameras. Can anyone tell me if this will matter when shooting the film? I have heard mixed opinions about it just referring to frame, rate in which case I can adjust the camera's frame rate. Others have told me that I will constantly have flicker due to electricity in the US. Will I be able to use the camera or should I look for something else?
