  1. Anybody know what a Litecraft 4ft 2K is? To give a little context, it is referenced here in this ASC article on The Social Network. http://www.theasc.com/ac_magazine/October2010/TheSocialNetwork/page2.php
  2. What lighting fixtures should you never point straight up or down. I've heard it's bad to do for Fresnels, but what others? What about Lekos?
  3. I am looking for a video that I saw once where they break down how the ending battle scene was accomplished in "Children Of Men" In the short doc they talk about why the decided to leave the "blood on the lens" and how they combined 2 different takes to make it seem like one long hand held shot. Is there anyone out there that has seen this and remembers where I can get it?
  4. I have gotten a gig shooting a music video. Because of the budget of this project they would like to use one of the 24p DV cameras or an HDV camera. I was wondering if there are thoughts out there on what formats would produce the best looking image for a project of this nature.
  5. Posted in the wrong catagory initially. First time. Sorry I WASTED your time.
  6. I work at the community college in Austin, Texas and have noticed something starnge with our cameras. Has anyone ever noticed that the viewfinder on sony's stuff doesn't show the entire frame? When I hook up any of ACC's seven pd170s or the DSR 250 to a projector or in Final Cut Pro there is more video on the left and right edges of the frame than what is shown in the camera's viewfinder. I noticed because students started bringing in footage where cables and booms were visible on the extreme left and right edges of the frame when editing their footage. Then I did a test and there is a little bit less shown on the edge of the frame in these camera's viewfinders than what I see in the computer and on a video projector. That does not seem right. Has anyone ever noticed this when using either of these Sony cameras? Just thought someone may be able to shed some light on this strange discrepancy I am seeing. This is an issue for us because most of these projects are for projected exhibition in a theatre not broadcast where the underscan and extreme edges are not visible.
