  1. Perspective is the perception of depth between foreground and background objects. It is normally sensed by comparing the size ratio of images. Size ratio is decided by the view point distance, not by by change in the focal length. But when tele lens is used, view point is foreced to be from the object, making size ratio among the images of the objects at different planes to get reduced. Since size ratio is reduced, objects appears to be close to each other. This has resulted due to change in the view point. since you have used telelens your are forced to away from the object. Since this happens when tele lens is used, many think that focal length is responsible for the change in the perspective. Keep cool. Do not argue, if you director says use tele to compress the perspective. Use tele and go back. regards, mngsekaran
  2. I do not think it will work, becuase PL mount lenses will not have covering power to fill the area with good image for 35mm mm still camera format regards, mngsekaran Cinematographer
  3. When a Nikon lens can not be used for infifity focus, what is the use of adapting it for PL mount. But there are 35mm movie camer which can directly go with Nikon lenses - Photosonic make
  4. I perfectly agree with the views. Idea of using 172.8 shutter angle is to have 1/50 shutter speed when working 24 frames per second, when supply frequency is 50 Hz. and HMI lights are operated with magnetic balast, so that all the frames will receive same exposure (each frame will experience 2 enegry peaks of lgihts equally). If we can run the generator at 48 Hz, the shutter angle can be 180 deg.
  5. Where I can download operation manual for ARRI III. I have gone through Arri Web site. But it is not listed. Gnanasekaran M.N.
