  1. Hi, I've recently come into possession of a Som Berthiot Pan Cinor 38-150 in Arri Standard mount. Has anyone used one before, what are it's characteristics, what time period is it from? If love to hear any opinions or info. Cheers - Aren
  2. Surely someone has a Geiger Counter and can test some eyepieces to enlighten us.
  3. Hi, I'm struggling to find a 400 foot magazine for the Arriflex 16m that will ship to Australia. It looks similar to the 16bl magazine but has slightly different drive gears. If you have one you'd be willing to sell and send overseas, let me know. (I'd also be interested in the 1200 foot mag if anyone has one) Thanks - Aren
  4. I don't know that it'll reduce radiation but I've heard of people reducing yellowing in optics, particularly lenses by having them in sunlight for prolonged periods. Maybe leave it in windowsill for a few weeks...
  5. Although the Angeniex Eclair NPR viewfinder does fit the CP-16R, from my experience, it doesn't work properly on that camera and isn't optically suited to it. Has anyone had better luck with it on that camera?
  6. Thank you, 18-20v, I'll remember that range. Since posting this topic, I've created a power supply using a battery shell and a 19v laptop charger, in seems to run quite nicely and the Crystal Sync warning light doesn't stay on which is a good sign.
  7. Hi, I have a cinema products CP-16R and I was wondering if it would run off a DC power supply of 19v, 2.5A connected to the battery terminals. I know it's supposed to be 20v but maybe it can still run off of 19v. What are your thoughts? Thanks - Aren
  8. Good to hear of another 16mm camera being saved. If you aren't doing anything with the trash magazines it came with, at least put them on eBay or something so they're still in circulation, I'm sure someone will fix them. This was posted a while ago now, any updates on fixing the camera?
  9. No problem, I assumed you worked it out by now but thought it could help other people in the future. You mentioned it was modified by Les Boscher, did he do the Super16 and PL conversion? How's the camera been since your modifications?
  10. Hi, I'm looking to buy a crystal sync motor for my Eclair NPR that won't cost me an arm and a leg. My NPR currently has a perfectone constant speed 25fps motor that only holds sync for about 30 seconds. Since I'm not recording sound with a Nagra, I'll need a crystal sync motor. If you have a spare motor you're willing to part with, let me know what you have and maybe we can work something out. Thanks - Aren
  11. Hi Ruben, There are two places you should find the serial number. The first spot is along the side of the horizontal handle at the top of of the camera, the other is behind the top lens turret with lens removed, at least that's the case with my one. I hope this was of some help.
  12. That Devry Halloween test came out really nice. What camera model and what lens did you use?
  13. I'm no expert but from looking at photos of the two, I'd assume so. Which Konvas model do you have?
  14. Hi, There's only a few posts that seem to mention the Cineflex, a US Army copy of the Arri 35. Has anyone here used one before? Is the movement inside more or less the same design or is it quite different and can it take magazines bigger than 400'? I'm also curious about how it performs, would it have good, stable registration? Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you
  15. Does the aperture still do it's job the same way since as you say the lens is essentially being magnified 3x?
  16. Hi, Has anyone here had any experience using 35mm SLR lenses on an Eclair NPR? I'm planning on using some Minolta Rokkor lenses on mine using a C mount adaptor. If you've used SLR lenses on an NPR, how well did it work, was the coverage good, any tips or tricks? Thanks
  17. I've seen them on eBay occasionally, keep an eye out, best of luck
  18. Very true, I used a Zoom H5 audio recorder with a stereo shotgun mic, it's a mono shotgun mic with two small left and right side mics as well. I'd highly recommend some sort of shotgun mic when recording around a 16mm camera as to pick up the least camera noise. How's your 16s been to use? What's the viewfinder on them like? I've heard they have nice lenses.
  19. Thanks for responding, I understand your point you make about the turret locking in, it hasn't been an issue for me yet, maybe the camera you used hadn't had the turret pin lubricated in a while, mine slides right in. I was quite surprised yesterday with just how quiet the camera was, mine hadn't been used since the 80s and all I did was clean it up a bit. When listening to the audio from the shoot I can't even hear the camera even when the audio recorder was close to the camera.
  20. Yesterday I shot my first ever roll in my new Eclair NPR. It was a 400' roll of 50d, a short skit with some friends. It was really fun shooting with it and the camera was great to use, I'll remember this first roll. What were your first experiences with the Eclair NPR? What did you shoot? How did it go?
  21. I've had luck finding all sorts of Eclair parts using a VPN connected to France and searching Eclair or Eclair 16 and stuff like that on french eBay.
  22. I had no idea they only ever made 26, wow. What was the series you used it on? Also, what was the viewfinder like?
  23. Wouldn't that adaptor cause the lens to have a different distance from the film plane to what it was designed for, meaning no infinity focus is possible?
  24. Hello, I'm intrigued by the Panavision Elaine 16mm camera which seemed like a good camera that never seems to get used anymore and is largely forgotten. It was introduced in 1987 but the only thing I know was shot with it was some of 'Malcolm In The Middle' back in the 90s. I'm assuming it was used primarily for TV. Has anyone here had any experience with it or used one recently? What are your thoughts on it, what was it like to use? Kind regards - Aren
