  1. Hi, i was wondering if anyone might have any tips on shooting day for dusk. Im shooting a feature with alot set out to sea, and the director wants alot of that to be set at dusk. I will probably shoot 50D. Would it be as simple as to take it down in the grade or would it be worth underexposing in camera. Id want to schedule it around an overcast day, were shooting in scotland so this shouldnt be a problem:) I read somewhere a good day for night trick around water would be a pola to take out some of the reflections of the sky, not sure if theres any thoughts on that:) cheers!
  2. Miguel thanks alot for your reply, that film is incredible I caught it last year and was mesmerised, that opening drone shot and then up to the tree under the spotlights is stunning, a great example of a drama set in a real world situation and being reactive, so cool. Do you know if they printed it back onto 16mm or 35mm? Thanks alot for the links thats super appreciated.
  3. hi, im prepping a feature where we will be shooting on s16mm. A chunk of the film will be shot out to sea within surf which I would like to shoot digitally for ease of operating and roll time. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on matching digital to 16mm. I wasn't planning on mixing formats in the same scene and hoping that the energy and abstraction of the surf based operating would help the cuts. I was wondering about using S16 lenses on crop sensor mini, but then wether it was worth looking at older lenses for digital, i would be shooting ultra primes on the 16mm. Could it also be worth looking at printing back to film any suggestions welcome, cheers!
