i would like know about negetive fill. when should negetive fill be used? how big a negetive fill should be?

yes i hve a sekonic 608 and i have encountered the same problem.testing with a 18% gray card my meter showed 1 stop difference inincident and reflacted reading.i need suggestion how to match the incident and reflacted reading.please suggest.

what happens if i only use the flat disc and not the white dome to measure lighting ratio? is it neccessary to use the dome to take final reading?
