I will be shooting a $500,000 feature soon, and I don't know what is fair as far as the budget for the DP. I was thinking $600/day plus 1 point. Is this reasonable?

I am looking to buy some lights for photography and for helping on films. I don't have the money to buy new equipment. I want to buy at least 3 lights (650 watts or higher) for under $600. Possibly also with barn doors, scrims and stands. I don't mind if they are used. If anyone can direct me to a place that sells used lights please let me know.

I am hoping to get a job soon at Panavision in Hollywood. Is there anything I should know about the "two-year-program" that they have? This is what they want me to get started on. I already have a BA in film from Brooks Institute, and am pretty knowledgeable about the very basics of cinematography. Will this job help me learn more about it and possibly get me in touch with people who are actually in the industry? -Chris Reilly

I found a Z1 for about 3800 which I would definitely pay, and the other stuff, I will slowly accumulate.

I am getting a camera for both wedding/events and Narratives (short, feature or documentary). I do not know which one is the better buy. I know the Z1 has better resolution, but I know that the 24P cam has the "film-look." Which one do you believe is the best buy? Please note that I only have $3500 to spend, so I want to buy the best for this amount... -Chris Reilly

Nice Face shots and such, but maybe add some more shots with more action and camera movements. It got a little dull after the first few "faces" that you showed. -Chris Reilly
