  1. Hi, we are actually shooting a documentary in Kenya with a Sony HVR-Z7E. We are shooting in HDV 1080 25p PAL. The problem is, that while recording, the Audio Channels sometimes disactivate themselves, this is a big problem, as it happened sometimes also during interviews. Has anybody experienced this problem already? It seems to be a commom problem with the Z7, at least I have heard about it also from others. thanks Daniel
  2. Hi, I have a problem. I should import and edit XDCAM files on my Power MAC G5, but it seems not to be possible. I have still the FINAL CUT STUDIO. Maybe upgrading to FINAL CUT STIDIO2 would help? As there are people saying, that you need an intel processor for this type of files, I don't know if it is worth buying the ubgrade, as I anyhow can not aford to buy a new intelbased MAc. thanks Daniel
  3. Hi, I have a Angenieux 6-80mm super8 lens where the inner lens element is missing. Therefore I'm looking for a ceep broken 6-80 lens as I need only this inner part of the lens, as the rest of my lens is in very good condition. Maybe someone wants to sell such a lens. thanks Daniel
  4. The BAUER A512 has the Schneider 6-70 lens...
  5. The best timelapse features I know on a super8 camera has the BAUER A512 and A508 as it has aditionally to the normal timelapsefeature like on the Nizos also a longtime exposure feature, that allowes you to make timelapse shots in nearly total darkness, as it simply exposes as long as it needs, and then it switches to the next frame. Normally you can shoot only 10 sec. with this mode, but if you block the 10sec. counterwheel with a piece of adhesive tape or something else you can shoot as long as you want. The more light the camera gets the faster becomes the framerate. there seems also to be an EUMIG camera with the same features, but I don't know this one. Daniel
  6. Hi, the white dot on the speed dial enables the crystal speeds 25 f/sec and 24 f/sec that you select from an separate switch. Maybe you know this but from your posts I was not sure, and this is really important to know. Daniel
  7. Hi, Does anybody know how exactly the deinterlace feature of AVID NITRIS works compared for example to NATTRESS (final cut plugin). thanks Daniel
  8. Hi, Try to see if the shutterblade has been damnaged or is touching something, you can check this by rotating the lensturret away and opening the Beamsplitterprism. Then disengage the motor and turn the motorshaft manually. Or try to change the I T lever (the lever for singleexposuer mode just over the speed selection knob. I hope this can be usefulle. Daniel
  9. ... on the right side of the camera ... daniel sorry wrong its on the left side
  10. On my AATON (an older LTR7 modell) the switch is on the body under the magazine troat, where you put your shoulder. There you switch between 24-25. In order that the camera is running either 24 or 25 you must turn the very small wheel (you can not grab it but must pressure your finger against it and then turn) on the right side of the camera until you see a white dot and not the other speeds like 32 ecc. daniel
  11. Actually I have a BOLEX SBM and a reflex with lens revolver. I feel that the Bayonet is the better choice, as well for the zoom as for the primes (which I use with a c-mount adapter). I have the revolver camera (similar to the REX5) because the SBM would not fit into my Bolex underwaterhousing (the oldstyle one). Of course the revolver can be very handy, but as it can happen that while focusing, the turret moves i always lock it with a locking screw, and this way the 3lens turret looses its sens. daniel
  12. The cables I made for the Konvas were just ordinary powercables, but as I wanted to have a flexible springlike cable I just took a prolungation from a householdcable, cut off the plugs and soldered a male and a female XLR 4pin plug on it. I adapted it to XLR 4pin, because this way I could use NP1 batteries (with an adapter) and it is compatible to the aatonLTR7 as well as to Tobin motors which I use on my Bolex and to the power adapter of my videocamera. On the Konvas motor I left the original plug (a buildin XLR4pin is to big to be mounted into the motor), and made with a short cable an adapter to 4pin XLR, this way I could use the good spiralcable with all of my cameras. I hope this could be usefull, and you understand my english Daniel
  13. Hi, I recently bought a Bolex H8rex4 camera and want to have it modified for DS8 does anybody know if it can be done and where (preferably in europe)? thanks daniel
  14. Hi, I have the chance to buy this lens (Canon Zoomlens super16mm F2: 14 / 84 mm) but haven't ever heared of it. It costs 3000? with a Bolex SB super16 atached to it (which I would resell as I have an SBM). The lens has AATON mount and a Bolex B adapter. Is this a god lens? I would use it on a AATON ltr7 and 35mm should be possible. thanks daniel
  15. Hm, if I had the chance to do more fiction, the size would not bother me so much, although I love to do hand held camera, but I will probably do mainly landscape mountain documentary with it, so size matters and with this short zoomrange I will still need primes... I still have 23 hours to think, I think I will need this time daniel
  16. Hi, I am considering to buy this lens, but I fear, that it is really big and heavy. Does anyone know more abouth it? Also I would have to use it with the arri B-mount to AAton adapter on a AAton ltr7. Might be that at this point Primes are the handyer choise? (actually I use only Nikon lenses because of budget reasons). http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...p;rd=1&rd=1 thanks Daniel
  17. Hi, in the meantime the registration problems with the convas M2 have been resolved. The camera has been serviced at Studio Hamburg, and they found, that the pressure of the pressureplates in the mags was to weak. Now everything is working. Daniel
  18. The 109XL is also really nice, because it's small, but it has not the exposuretimeautomatism and the variable shutter (the bauer a512 has also the possibility tho make fades in camera, but I don't think this is very usefull), and it is not as small as a nizo 156macro. I dont know the elmo.
  19. strange that noone likes the bauer a512, the exposuretime automatisme is on of the greatest features I have ever seen on a super8 camera (and only this one has it) and the lens is the schneider 6-70, the same as on the beaulieu 2004 zm4. this are the two cameras I prefer to work with. Of couse the fujica zc1000 is even better, but thats single8. daniel
  20. I put some of my super8/single8 movies on myspace, if anyone is interested this is the link http://www.myspace.com/analogewiderstandsfront I hope they are not to boring, this is only the beginning (al least I hope so) daniel
  21. the orwo stock has had in the past "physical" problems like abrasion in the filmgate ecc. but this problems have ben resolved as it seems. The redisigned stock has been recently presented, and keeps the emulsions charakteristics but has new suport material. is said to be now as good as kodaks or fujis filmstocks. I do not know if it is already available but I think it schould. daniel
  22. Hi, I'm interested in this lens on ebay, but as I have heared that Angenieux Lenses tend to be a little soft, I wanted to ask if this is thrue for this lens too. (I would use it mainly on P+S mini35 adapter) http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...IT%3A1&rd=1 thanks daniel
  23. I'm quiet sure this is a cameflex mount, I own a cameflex mounted lens that I use on my aaton with an adapter like this actually being sold on e-bay http://cgi.ebay.de/Eclair-Cameflex-to-Aato...1QQcmdZViewItem daniel
