Propack require plugin to power it? Camera have Phantom power? Plug the mic into a mixer with phantom power and se if it works. If it does, it's something in your camera setup. Regards, Ty Ford

An exhausting experiment! About the 414..could be funky mic, could be the match between the mic and preamp. The one thing I've learned about the sound of a mic is that it's the combination of the mic and preamp that determine the sound. HI, After a lot of looking I seem to be coming around to either a Sachtler DV 4 or DV 6. The 6 costs about $500 more, but would give me added weight bearing ability in case I want to add a teleprompter in the future. Any thoughts? Ty Ford
