  1. Wish I was in the US, would love to buy it 😕 i think shipping probably doesn‘t make sense…
  2. and here's a link to some footage: https://www.swisstransfer.com/d/9c46e9f5-fe62-42f1-aaa4-10b0e96180c1 nothing scientific, just a bunch of shots
  3. I have an oddball of a zoom lens for sale, which I bought a while ago from a company that shoots nature documentaries. It's a Canon that was modified by Panther to fit PL-Mount Super 16 cameras. According to a rental company that I talked to, the optics may be close to the Canon 11-165 zoom, since that lens seems to be based on a TV zoom as well. Here's a list of Pro's and Con's I've come up with whilst testing it on my Z Cam E2-S6 in S16 mode. Pros Huge Zoom range (the double extender makes it a 20-320 but compromises the aperture and quality) Pretty sharp (I was expecting a lot worse) Nice flares that can change depending on aperture and zoom setting Compact size and well built Clean Glass (except for a few barely visible dots (dust?) that are visible when viewed in the right light, doesn't affect the image though as far as I can tell) Cons Heavy breathing (especially in the wide setting) Relatively short focus throw, nice for handheld operation though Make me an offer ? I'd also be open to trade it for another lens, mainly looking at primes. Here's a link to some photos: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1G78cAmOZUSSAwuoV5wQ0lA4eIjVDdj5k?usp=share_link
  4. Hi, what‘s the asking price for the set? And would you be willing to split it up by any chance?
  5. Puhlmann.tv has one for sale I think. Its the 16mm version.
  6. Is this what you‘re looking for? Auction Just saw this on a local auction site here in Switzerland ?
  7. Hmm, could be. What do you think the lens could be worth in that case? If it‘s just a small amount it might still be interesting to try out.
  8. Alright, this is getting even more interesting. Turns out it might not be a B4 lens after all. According to the rentalhouse in Sweden that owns one of those the base lens is actually a Canon 11-165 T2.5 Super 16 zoom which is surprising considering the angle seems to have turned wider through the modification. (Maybe also just a different measurement made by Panther during the modification) But it adds up if you compare the focus barrel grip to one of the Canon 11-165‘s. That would make this lens an actual Super 16 Zoom with an inbuilt doubler.
  9. Thanks for the detailed reply! It does indeed have a 2x doubler which was part of the modification that was supposedly done by Panther Film Equipment. I just wasn‘t able to find a Canon TV-lens that matches as a base-version. There is a 16-160mm TV zoom but that wouldn‘t make sense with the wide end of the lens. I reached out to them but haven‘t heard back yet. I would think so too regarding the coverage. Wouldn‘t make sense in my eyes either to go through the hassle of converting and then engraving your logo on a frankenstein-lens. Any way I‘m gonna try to test it on a blackmagic micro cinema camera soon which should proof if it actually covers S16 or not.
  10. Anyone know anything about this lens? I found a listing on a local site but I can‘t seem to find any info on this lens…apart from a rental company named „dagsljus“ that has one listed for rental. Description of the listing says it was rehoused by Panther and outfitted with a PL-mount. I guess it could be a Super 16 lens?
  11. Yeah, it seems you‘re spot on! I contacted Sachtler and they told me that it‘s probably the thread that has been worn down on the inner „break-ring“. They told me I could send it in for repair (which they didn‘t know if it‘s still possible to do since they don‘t usually have those kind of spare parts for really old heads) but that alone would‘ve cost more than what I paid for the head so I‘m gonna have to let it be sadly ?
  12. I'd be looking to sell it for 5500 euros if a swap is not possible ?
  13. Ok...sachtler says, they might not be able to repair the head because it's too old and it would also be too expensive. Anyone have experience with opening one of those heads? I removed the bottom screws but the halfbowl won't come off ^^
  14. I consider selling/swapping my Super 16 Canon zoom lens. I really like the range and relatively small footprint but the projects I'm working on require more S35 (or even FF) so I might have to switch to a set of S35 primes or a S35 zoom (although I'm not sure that I'll find something in a comparable price range). The set consists of the following items: Canon 6.6-66 T2.7 Super 16 Zoom lens (Canon's last version of Super 16 Zooms) with Lens Cap Chrosziel Smooth Zoom Drive for Canon S16 Zoom lenses Smallrig LWS Lens Support for 15mm Rods (if requested) The lens is in very good condition. On the front of the barrel (outside) there's a thin line left by the metal lens cap. Apart from a few minor marks the body looks really good. The glass is clean. Backfocus has recently been checked and adjusted by the guys at cinemarket.eu (which is also where I got the lens). I'm open for offers and maybe also a swap for other lenses/equipment (was looking at Zeiss CP.2's, Canon Cinealta Primes (Mk.2's), Super 35 Zooms or similar)...just message me! 15. I don‘t think so…I‘ve had a look at the exlposion drawing and there‘s nothing in there but the inner ring which has a hole with a thread in it that should hold the screw ? Ordered the green marked pieces which should be all…the red line is the order that the blueprint shows.
  16. Does anyone know how to fix this or what might be the problem? I ordered a new pan brake for my Sachtler Video 14 II which I bought used. Even though I installed the brake correctly (fitting into the hole in the inner ring of the tripod head) it doesnt fully stop the head from panning, males a strange click noise and then is lose again… (i tried to film it here, excuse the background music but the clicking can be heard)
