  1. Hi Mark, Yes I understand the FFD, what I meant sorry is how can I replace the R35 mount in the hard front with an EF mount. The R35 has versions where the hard front has and Nikon F mount which is 44mm so I think it's technically possible but I need to find someone that has or can engineer an EF mount to go on the hard front in place of the R35 mount :)
  2. Hi All, I have a Mitchell R35 Mkii in fairly good condition barring a motor problem. I am trying to assemble the various pieces I need to get it running again and am stumbling at the lens mount. It has the original R35 mount on the hard front. I want to convert it to work with EF or M42 as that's most of my lenses. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge on whether it's possible? I found online someone quoting the 73' AC manual saying the S35R's mount was 2.25inches so 56.25mm - EF is 44mm so I'd assume it's possible, subject to any obstruction in the camera body? If so, does anyone know anyone in the UK or otherwise that does this? Cheers, Nick
  3. Thans Both - it's only got two live pins (after pulling it apart) and I tried with a variable DC power supply as mentioned and basically nothing happened up to 30V. We took it apart to see if we could find the motor specs and in the process we accidentally pulled the motor apart - don't ask, lots of swearing... so we are now looking for a new one (though may have found one already).
  4. Hi Group, I'm finally getting round to looking at this and trying to source some advice / assistance! We have a Mitchell R35 mkii rig with a Cinema Products Motor, however... we have no power supply / cables I can find. Can anybody advise what power source this requires and from the look of it is it a standard XLR power cable? Also, we managed to find a bayonet mount adapter/sleeve for the baytonet mount on the cam body - but how on earth do I actually get a lens in there? Never worked with a camera like this and piecing it together as I go. Images here due to the constraints of attaching them... https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/ahv48riu4srtrjr1vldvu/h?rlkey=ja4nvyb7z690mp8qx5dksrtma&dl=0 Thanking in advance! Cheers, Nick
  5. Excuse the ignorance Frank but what further electronics did it need? an external amplifier or some such? Wondering whether I'm better off getting an auricon or some such and figuring out a way to print a soundtrack to it synchronously ?
  6. Hi, Am searching for a Westrex RA-1231 16MM recording camera... Anyone have any ideas, contacts etc? Cheers, Nick
  7. Not to jump into the thread, but Richard your name has been advised to me quite alot! We have 3x Model Cs, a takita, an oxberry 20-OP and an Arri miniprint in various states. Wondering whether you could assist with any manuals or what not, especially for the takita, oxberry and miniprint (we found a model c manual) ? Cheers, Nick www.polyfilmlabs.co.uk
  8. I think two of them do ? I also have the wetgate machine and motors lol
  9. Files were too large so added to a dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/wj8b4hidupnlzf19xtbux/h?dl=0&rlkey=trkr1e07x4yoy8hbfy0rteinc
  10. Hi, Looking to get my hands on a mitchell mkii S35 manual. We acquired one but it's in need of restoration and having a manual may help as we can't even open to side! Cheers, Nick
  11. Thanks Frank! We have 200m2 and 3phase and some mechanically minded people - we are just missing manuals lol it's hard to know how and what to fix when everything is relatively in pieces and no there were no documentation manuals or guides. Whilst it came from a lab, it was stored in a family members garage so had already been culled down etc. Cheers, Nick
  12. Hi, We acquired the remnants of a lab that used to run in London, Film & Photo Ltd. We are looking for expertise in helping us restore them to working condition, we have: 3 x Bell & Howell Model C's various formats (unsure what type these are, there is a wetgate machine but unsure whether it's for these or other printers...) Oxberry 20-OP printer with 35 and 16 mechanisms Takita Step Reduction printer 16/35 Arri MiniPrint 15/35 optical printer Various Cameras (acme 16mm, Mitchel TV telerecording camera and others) Ideally, we want these restored and working but if that's not possible then we'd like to find the relevant parts new homes (there are alot of gates (incl wet), mechanisms etc, lenses etc). We are based in Suffolk, UK. We are a social enterprise funded by myself. We've spoken to Kodak UK and they gave some contacts at MMT and BFI but we don't have the funding to deal with the former and haven't heard back from the latter. Any and all advise/help/guidance/manuals/diagrams etc would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Nick www.polyfilmlabs.co.uk
  13. Thanks Steve! We have a vision of turning it into a charity eventually, dedicated to keeping the old methods alive hence the hunting for old post prod equipment ?
  14. I'd be keen to find a compact processor available in the UK if anyone here has any leads.... I'm also glad I just moved away from Australia, as am 99% sure I would have bid and made the same journey only to discover its size. Though I probably would have taken it - I have family with a large estate in Grafton, NSW.
