  1. Hi everyone, I have recently bought a second T-bar to be paired with a c-mount camera to be used as an HD tap on my Arri SR2. (Picture 2) However this second T-bar, although identical in it's shape / structure, has a different mounting option for the camera / CCD mount. My previous model had a protruding male c-mount thread (Picture 1), but this current T-bar only offers a loose female threaded ring (Picture 3), which seems to be designed for older CCD modules. Any idea what this thread could be, and how to convert it to a male c-mount? Cheers, Val 1 - C-mount on my first tap: 2- 2nd video tap 3 - 2nd video tap mounting thread:
  2. Hey Marc, is the lens still available? Many thanks, Val
  3. Hey I have an Angenieux 5.9 f1.8 for Arri B / Standard mount
  4. Hey Robin! Thanks for getting back after all this time. I have also read that the SR2 and SR3 are cross compatible as well, but might not allow frame glow if the original SR2 ground glass is used on an SR3 or 416. Thanks for the references and names - it will come in handy for custom frame guides. Cheers, Val
  5. Hey Robin, I am aware I’m sending you this years after you posted on the forum, but would you still have an SR2 screen? Also, would you happen to know if the SR3 ground glass is compatible with SR2s? Many thanks, Val
  6. Cheers Dom, Richard Hester's name came up quite a lot on other groups and forums. I'm trying to get in touch asap! In the meantime - I have had some insightful answers needing further investigation. One of which was from @Tyler Purcell I hope this can be helpful to anyone encountering a similar issue in the future.
  7. HELP NEEDED Hey everyone, I come today with a bit of worrying problem. I will delve into details here to give you the full picture: Last week, as I was on a shoot, my trusted ARRI SR2 suddenly stopped rolling and wouldn’t turn back on. Under time and financial pressure, we started troubleshooting for what could be behind the fault. This as lead me to take the battery adapter and converter apart and test the circuit for faulty cable with an amp meter. It turns out the actual culprit was the lever trigger and a possible loose connection inside the body. Fortunately enough, simply toggling the lever harder popped the connection back on and the camera came back to life just in time to finish our shoot. HOWEVER - the main issue only begins now. As I was putting the battery adapter back together, I inadvertently swapped the 1 (-) and 4 (+) of my XLR plug. Although I didn’t hear any sound or notice any sign of damage, the camera now power on but does so as soon as a battery is plugged in. The SR2 also seems to roll much faster than the usual 24/25 fps. I obviously understand that this is a gross negligence from my part - I am now desperate to get it fixed on time for another shoot and would need your advice and help finding a good service center in London or the UK. Thanks for reading this rant, it’s been a pretty stressful week. Val
  8. Hey Dom, Thank you for your insight, I think you might be right and I will ask the technician to take these point sin consideration while servicing the camera. Thanks again for the help everyone! I will let you know as soon as I receive the diagnostic. All the best, Val
  9. Thanks for all the knowledge and advice everyone - I really appreciate! I had already check the eyepiece and had it adjusted to my sight - hence the surprise when every shot I framed through it was always tack sharp in focus. As highlighted by @Robert Hart, I suspect the issue might come from a mismatch either from the ground glass or mirror position. I feel like the next step would be to get both lenses and camera body properly inspected and serviced. I was planning on getting the SR2 upgraded to super 16 / PL mount and this would also require to have both the mirror and the ground glass changed and calibrated. Hopefully this should solve this issue! I will keep you all in the loop to let you know what solved the issue. Thanks again for all your precious help! Val
  10. Hey everyone, I have recently started to venture into 16mm film and bought an Arri SR2 paired with a set of Zeiss Super Speed MKI (9.5, 12 and 16) After testing a few stock options I shot a music video and just received the scans back. Both the test shoot and the final images from the music video consistently exhibit similar focusing issues - always focused a little too short (about 30cm to be exact). Could the camera / ground glass be behind this issue? Could the lenses be behind this issues? I noticed the 9.5mm and the 12mm to mostly correlate with the soft shots. I do however understand that I am mostly likely the be the culprit, but the consistency of this issue really surprised me. The ground glass is relatively clean and bright, and seemed tack sharp every single time. I did take the time to make sure each shot were properly focused, but despite many precautions, many shots came back soft, even while having the camera on sticks. I plan on having the camera and the lenses serviced but thought I would ask more seasoned ACs for advice. Cheers! Val
  11. Beautiful Angénieux 5.9mm 1.8 lens for sale The lens is is fantastic condition: both front and rear elements are in pristine condition, alongside a very clean body with very few scuff marks for its age. No sign of haze nor fungus - Perfectly clear and crisp optics. At 5.9mm the lens offer exceptionally wide field of view while remaining in rectilinear realm. This iteration has become a favourite for a lot of music videos and projects looking to achieve such wide angle look. ASKING PRICE: £899 (Possible collection in Londnon) NOTE: - This lens covers standard 16mm - Not S16. - I have had to shim the lens to reach perfect infinity focus - The shimming system is very easy to access and you might have to use it depending on your mount (if using a PL converter, etc.) I would be happy to answer any questions or provide you with extra photos! Cheers!
  12. Hey Olle - How much are you asking for the Angenieux 5.9? Are you based in Europe or the US?
  13. Hey everyone, I recently bought an Angenieux 5.9 f1.8 to be used on an Arri SR2 N16. It seems like the lens is just about too long and touches the mirror - not allowing the standard mount to 'click in' and lock the lens. Another thread on the forum addressed a similar issue with a PL mount, and more interestingly, highlighted a custom adjustment made to the lens's rear element: It seems that this element has been custom filed to allow extra space to fit between the mirror and internal elements of the camera. The lens I have received has the same element without the filed adjustment: Alternatively, I have noticed another version of the same lens with a different rear element, probably taking in account the need for extra space for both mirrors and internal components in the camera mount: My questions are: - Shall I return the lens I bought in the hope to get one with the right rear element? - Shall I try to dismount the final metal ring and file it as seen in the first example - Can the last rear element be bought separately and swapped, fitting it myself. Thank for any insight and help, I'm pondering whether sending the lens back or not. Thanks, Val
