  1. Leica M8 is a digital camera, I owned one. So no idea how the hell you’re shooting tri-x and ektar on it 😉
  2. Thanks so much, this is invaluable insight, I appreciate it! I’ll definitely get in contact if there’s anything else i need to know, but this really helped me out!
  3. Haha no worries. Arri rental berlin actually checked out, calibrated and tested my sr3 pro when i got it. So it doesn’t even need to be at arri munich but they definitely have all the knowledge down there. Definitely won’t be anyone or any gear coming to germany either, all the big production companies and streaming services have called off all projects in germany for 2024, or at least a large majority. Thanks for the tip on cine facilities, i’ll message them and see if i can set something up. Thanks, I too would much rather have a working kit off the bat but I’m not in the position to pay the pretty high prices right now. And with Alexandre’s offer of the movement above, it is just so significantly cheaper, but we will see.
  4. I live in the EU, I haven’t seen any of the previous strikes affect the prices of gear over here. Maybe I just didn’t notice. But I’ll get in touch with AM and ask about what their movement includes or needs thanks! Yeah the main thing is I need to check all other components of the 435 and see if they’re good, but i’m just figuring out feasibility of the project currently and trying to gather recourses to make it work.
  5. I have the opportunity to pick up a 435 with no movement for next to nothing, the am cameras movement would cost 6000, even with labor costs and the camera it would cost 1/2 of what ulis kit is up for. I’m not hoping for anything to be ‘low cost’ I’m a camera tech, I know what these things rightfully cost. But the end result would be, as i said, only a fraction of the cost of the current market prices.
  6. Hi Uli, i’ve seen your kit and it has peaked my interest. But I was hoping to get a dormant 435 up and running again for a fraction of the cost. If i don’t succeed i will definitely shoot you a message about your kit! Cheers
  7. Hey thanks for the response, I should have clarified I am looking for ANY movement, 2,3 or 4 perf. I saw arri sold off some good packages recently, but I wasn’t aware at the time they were listed.
  8. Just wondering if anyone has used this scanner/ owns this scanner and can share some experiences. I'm currently building my own scanner but it is no way capable of being as useful in terms of speed compared to the Pictor pro. The 2k res and the real time scanning seems great, but I've often been disappointed by sharpness and noise levels in 2k super 8 scans before. I saw some sample stuff on ff's website but I would love to hear some "real word" experiences! Thanks!
  9. Is it still possible to find 435 movements? Are the movements interchangeable between the versions? I saw AM has a 435 3 perf movement for sale but for 6000€, which is what some basic 435 kits sell for as a whole (or at least did). Thats the only time ive been at all able to find a movement. If anyone has any leads in this regards I would appreciate it!
  10. Thank you Tim for listening to my feedback, much appreciated, hopefully people value this too!
  11. Fresh Kodak Vision 200t 122m 150€ each, 2 available. Located in Berlin, free shipping in Germany. Left over rolls from a shoot in January, ordered directly from Kodak.
  12. It should be fine, unless your lenses are extremely out of alignment already. Make sure you test your adapter for back focus, usually most adapters have back focus adjustment, I would do this before shooting. But as Mark said, you'll have pretty substantially long lenses in terms of angle of view. So double check that those are focal lengths you want to use, multiply your lenses focal length by the crop factor to get an equivalent focal length.
  13. The elmo album 3600 camera has a 4.3mm wide angle. The other option would be to use a Beaulieu with a fujinon 5.5. Or a Beaulieu with an adapter and use the 6mm ultra 16 or other ultra wide 16mm lenses with pl mount (optex etc.) or c mount to b4 and use the Zeiss digiprime lenses, theres a 3.9mm lens in that set. Wide angle adapters are the easiest and cheapest option, you can use those on the cameras that dont have interchangeable lenses. Nizo has a few good wide angle adapters for their cameras, canon does too for their 310xl and 514xl. Alternatively of course just some cheap wide angle adapters but they're usually not made for specific lenses and may have noticeable lack of sharpness, increased distortion and chromatic aberrations.
  14. Makes sense to try and reduce scammers. But someone scamming with a multiple thousand dollar item is not going to be discouraged by 25$ to pay with their already fake paypal account. Additionally, like steven has said, if the reason is to have a paypal transaction to confirm identity, this could be less, maybe 1 dollar. I get you have to keep the forum up and running and pay for this service, I just think it’s a real shame as i’ve already seen the effects in the marketplace, just high value items by the big players who already sponsor the forum anyway. Extreme lack of diversity is already totally noticeable.
  15. An Arri SR will have the same slight weaving motion, especially if unserviced/ with a worn gate. But also the older sr’s 1,2 and even 3 non advanced models have a gate that creates a less steady more ‘floating’ or as you described it wave motion image. My sr3 advanced has a rock steady image with an unnoticeable amount of gate weave, but i’m not sure how an old sr compares directly with a bolex or beaulieu in terms of gate weave.
