  1. Hey Stuart. Indeed, the location is deep in the desert. LED's with v-Mounts. For this shoot I'll be using ikans. We did a test last night and the fire produced the desired flicker. I'm bouncing a full-straw LED off the ceiling left of the fire for fill. Then using an blue gelled LED for rim/moon light. Also backlights the smoke for a nifty effect. Giving the link a look now, Igor. Many thanks.
  2. Will be shooting a campfire scene that takes place in a shallow cove. Will have a small fire that serves as the key lighting source but will need to augment the campfire with LED lights. If anybody has any experience with a similar lighting arrangement, can you advise how you lit your scene and especially what gel filters you used?
  3. Can anybody recommend one of the better online libraries for "wind" and "Thunder" sound F/X. I've spent most the afternoon wading through Sounddogs library and have concluded that I'm hearing the same mediocre F/X over and over. There has a to be a better way. Many thanks.
  4. If the Angenieux 8-64 doesn't have much value, I may try and find another S2008 body.
  5. It's a Beaulieu S2008. I have both and got the names mixed up. But it's definitely a Angenieux 8-64.
  6. Lens is a c-mount but I'm also not sure if it will work on Bolex's or jus the Beaulieu.
  7. I messed up. It's an Angenieux 8-64 and it does have the zoom motor. Glass is pristine. Also has a motorized aperture. I'll take some time to get some pictures tonight.
  8. Glass is pristine. I'll get some pics going soon.
  9. Asked this is another forum but perhaps should have asked here first. I have a Beaulieu R16 that recently stopped working. Bad motor. Body is likely shot but it has a fine Angenieux 12-120. Do these lenses have any really value?
  10. Are the Angenieux 12-120 Lens value Beaulieu R16 worth anything? I have a full system and the camera motor just went south.
  11. Up for auction are a complete set of Tiffen Antique Suede Filters, #1, #2, #3, in the Series 9. Glass and rings are in excellent condition. The great thing about Series 9 filters is that you use them with different size retaining and stepdown rings. They are compatible with every new camera or lens which makes them future proof. All you have to do is buy the proper stepdown ring for about 5 bucks or so--much cheaper than buying all new threaded filters. Series 9 filters are about 90mm in diameter. Individual Sets sell for $517.50 on B&H Antique Suede -http://www.ebay.com/itm/292295025842?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Chocolate - http://www.ebay.com/itm/292295044515?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Tobacco - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tiffen-Tobacco-Series-9-1-2-3-Solid-Color-Filters/292295049290

  13. http://www.ebay.com/itm/292277079535?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Up for Auction are 2 (two) Arriflex 400' Motion Picture Film Magazines for the Arri 35-3 and the Arri 2c motion picture cameras. Both magazines are in very good condition and fully operational. The mag labeled #11769 has a newish P+S Technik protective shell casing that I added in 2009. I scratch tested both magazines and the footage counters work smoothly. Both magazines come together in a custom fitted AJ Cases fiberglass hard shell road case that will fit up to 3 (three) 400' mags. The sprocket gear cover on 11021 does have a chip on the lip but DOES NOT effect the performance of the magazine at all. It's been that way since I bought it in 2000 and I have used it hundreds of times and has performed flawlessly and without fail. There is a detailed photo above that shows the chip. I bought these magazines along with an Arri 2-C in 2000 and right away shot 2nd Unit on a Discovery Channel documentary "Until the End of the World." These magazines were also used to shoot 2nd Unit on the "The Reaping" starring Hillary Swank. They were also used on Steve James documentary film, "Stevie." They have served me well over the years and have outlasted my two 35mm cameras-- A 2c and then a Arri 35-3 bought in 2007. They still have plenty of life in them and will serve you well on your next epic film journey.

  17. Hello Adrian and AJ, I am definitely giving the LiteGear another look. If fact I'm pretty close to buying their LiteMat 2.
  18. Visited FilmTools yesterday hoping to find a solution. Checked out the Skypanel, Adrian. Seems the have every F/X imaginable and then some. But they are far too pricey. I hope to stay in the $1500 range for a single panel. Litegear has the Litemat S2 series that comes with all sorts of accessories including a dimmer with built in gags, such a Fire/flame. Very tempting but I was not at all impressed with the build quality. Feels very cheap.
