  2. Hello, My SR2 powers on right when I connect the battery. Is there suppose to be a on/off/standby power switch like in the photo below? Or is that just how some model are? Usually I won't attach the battery until right before I'm ready to roll, to just make sure it isn't left rolling unintentionally or draining the battery. Thanks
  3. Hi friends. I have an Arriflex 16BL with tobin TXM-15 sync that I tried to use today. Its worked many a times before in the past. Today I hit the button to shoot; and nothing happens. What the hell? I take the mag off to see if it was jammed or something; and more smoke than cheech and Chongs car came wafting out of the gear area. Gosh darn it. I take the motor housing off and I see this- 5amp blown fuse. Okay but where was the smoke coming from?? My inching knob is broken as well. Any suggestions? I have all the pieces. The motor still turns by hand, have yet to get the replacement DC fuse. Questions now 1. The motor shows 9,5V motor. I have a 12v 7.5mah battery. Direct leads to a power cable, to Tobin system. Am I over-powering the camera with this battery? Or does the tobin system have some sort of conversion from 12v to 9.5v for the motor? 2. What do you think was the cause of the smoking? Upon inspection of what I could disassemble, I see no melted resistors or plastic or wires, etc. see pictures. 3. Suggestions on replacement of the inching knob? **** pictures to come****
  4. Selling a super wide angle lens for super16 or micro 4;3 Originally in Arri Standard Mount, it has a PL mount adapter installed. The lens is in great condition, I hate to see it go! Looking at 950$ for it. Pictures : https://drive.google.com/open?id=1e4WUZfFNWzAnBGbXM_ZNR7tuMWDS1OCz Contact: albu.william@gmail.com
  5. Hello all, I'm in the market for a super 16mm camera package. I've seen an SR3 highspeed at Visual Products but it is slightly over my budget (it's 8500$) Interested in seeing your super 16 cameras if you have one! Thanks -William
  6. Hello, I am looking to buy a set of Side and French flags for my Arri MB-16. I have been searching Ebay for a while and I have also called shops around the area, but no one has any. I was also wondering if I might be able to buy a set of flags for a different matte box and attach them to my Arri MB-16. Does anyone know if this would work? Thank you in advance.
  7. I've been shooting on a K3 for the past year or so, and decided to pick up a Scoopic (Gray model). The camera definitely needs a CLA, but overall seems in decent condition. The main problem is power, which I understand is common with scoopics. It came with a battery and charger. The battery is charging now, though I'm assuming it will need to be recelled. I was curious as to what other options there are in terms of powering the camera. Specifically, I was wondering how simple it would be to make an external power source to connect to the four pin connector on the camera. I'm no electrical engineer, so I assume it would be more complicated than finding a 12V battery and soldering it to the proper cable. I've also seen some tutorials on making internal battery packs using 10 1.2V AA batteries, though they all seemed a little insecure to me. What goes into making an external power source for the camera, and what should I look for?
  8. Hello Folks, I'm looking for any type of shortends for testing few of my cameras and also doing some experimental stuff. I'm really tight on budget so cheaper for me is better. I'm intrested in Kodak, Agfa, Orwo, Svema, Fuji, and others. B&W, Color, Reversal and Negative.if shipping to Vilnius, Lithuania is ok for you. Thanks. Nojus nojusdra at gmail dot com
  9. Hey all, hoping for a bit of advice. Having some trouble with an approaching s16mm shoot- a darkroom scene. I was hoping to light mainly with practical florescent 2x4's and then to gel them fully red for some sequences. My question is: with the interior location, I thought I should shoot on 7219 500T... should I use tungsten tubes? Or would daylight tubes be better for the gel? I know daylight-balanced bulbs on tungsten stock will come away rather cyan, which I don't mind. But gelled, what should I expect? I could shoot on 250D, but am nervous that the light loss from the gels will give me a tough exposure. What setup of stock and bulbs (filtration?) do you think is best? Unfortunately, there just doesn't seem to be budget for tests. I also read in an older post here that there were issues with focusing, or that the image (red lit) will look soft. Is this a genuine focusing issue? Or should we just measure out as per usual? The last thing here that freaked me out was that someone noted that my light meter will give me an improper reading under these red conditions. Does anyone have any experience with this type of setup? Thanks so much for your input. Any advice would help!
  10. Hello, I search a Super16 Zoom, Canon 8-64mm/7-63mm or Angenieux 7-81mm. Only in Europe. Sent me a PM if you have one to sell. Thank's in advance. Hardev
  11. Hello All, Check this out: First instance shooting on the Redlake locam inside. Definitely quite challenging to use. Next time I'll up the light for sure to fix up some of the focus issues. Let me know any other thoughts! Thanks, Luc
  12. I'm a film student currently in pre-production for my first 16mm film. We have three rolls of film stock, and can choose from 50T, 250D, 250T and 500D We have three different aesthetics: One indoor scene in a swimming pool, where we will hopefully have 3/4 natural light and I'm hoping we will be able to use 250D Kodak stock, using only natural light. Two outdoor scenes (although in the English countryside, in May) in one of which we are hoping to acheieve a look similar to 70s photographs of Californian swimming pools, such as http://www.latimes.com/features/home/la-hm-backyard-oasis-photos,0,7657842.photogallery?index=la-hm-backyard-oasis-photos-002 while in the other, we are hoping to acheieve a colder 90s style such as this film demonstrates: http://vimeopro.com/yvonlambert/sallatykka/video/40155357 Sorry for the very long post, but does anybody maybe have some advice on which film stock to use? We are using the Arri SR3 and have access to 'basic filters' Thanks!
  13. Hello all, I'm new here, and have decided to dive right in. Check out a little project myself and some chums shot in the summer. It's about rape and murder. https://vimeo.com/60551788 Thanks, Lucien
