Hi, I posted last night on here about buying cheap Double 8MM film. I've discovered I can buy 100FT of Double 8MM film for around £30, give or take a few quid. Here's my dilemma, most 8MM film cameras, including mine, only have a capacity for 25FT of film. Now, could I cut this down? Like cut it into 4 sections and put it onto 4 separate 25ft spools? What lighting would I need to do this in? Complete darkness? Subdued lighting? I'm almost certain I can cut it down, I just don't know about lighting conditions. Thanks, Andrew.

I know there are some post on this topic, but they are outdated or they don't present enough information. So here is the story: I have been shooting video cameras for a long time. I've had the desire to shoot film but not the money. Recently I bought a Krasnogorsk K3 which looks in amazing condition to me. It has a 90… serial number, so I suppose it was made in 1990. It has all the accessories, even the box and I'm excited to start shooting with it. I know how cameras work, how to expose, filters, I have a light meter and I know hot to use it and I have shot 35mm stills. So I guess I'm safe in that area. But I need help with some tips about processing the film. I'm going to shoot basic things, I'll try to test my lenses, different apertures, etc. So nothing really important. I have to spools of 100ft and I would like to have them scanned to 2k. I would like to start with those. But looks like many labs have a minimum charge. And it something like $150. I have a super 8 camera. So I could shoot a couple of cartridges just for fun in order to reach the minimum charge. If I shoot negative, can I watch the super 8 film at home with a projector? What do you guys recommend? Please tell me about the process. I'm self-taught, I've done plenty of research on the internet but there is not much info this days. I would like to document my experience of shooting 16mm video, so I can share the info with other people who may have the same questions. So you may help more people than just myself. Greetings, I was recently given a Canon 514XL camera. I am familiar with still film in general but am not clear on how this camera works with various stocks and I have no manual. I know the cam works as I have run a roll of Tri-X through it and got it developed successfully. That being said I am not interested in taking black and white at this time. I am going to Las Vegas in January and want to get a couple cartidges of color film to shoot outdoors on the strip (during the day) as well as inside on various casino floors. I have been browsing the forums and it seems like Vision3 50D would be good for daylight/outdoor and possibly 200T or 500T for inside, but I am not sure as I have no experience with either. What is confusing me is how my particular camera will treat these films. I have been reading about needing an 85 filter for the T films, but I'm not sure if the 514XL has that built-in or not? I'm not even sure if the cam will support these cartridges due to the issue of setting the ASA correctly with the notches, etc. In addition, I've read on this forum that it might be better to just use the higher-ASA rated T films with a screw on filter instead of using two different stocks. As far as grain goes, I honeslty don't care. I like grain (within reason) and this is a personal project. It adds a certain character so reducing grain across lighting scenarios is not my primary goal. If it's clean, great. Light to moderate grain, great also. I am really hoping a nice gentle soul on this forum will offer some guidance to an amateur who is new to this area. Just bought a Canon 814 Auto Zoom from a German photography seller. Cleaned, well-maintained, reportedly testing and working with film. Just put the batteries in. Everything runs, but the fold-out hand grip, which contains 4 AA batteries, feels real hot. Is this normal?

Greetings, I recently purchased two Sylvania Sun Guns, I mainly shoot on the following: Bolex 5120: Super8mm Bauer C5 XL: Super8mm Krasnogorsk 3: 16mm Canon Scoopic: 16mm The Sylvania models are: The Sun Gun I and II models Is there a safe way to use a diffuser with these bad boys? I am interested in the Sun Gun made by Slyvania that is both a flood and spot light. What can these features offer me?? I know these bad boys can get dangerously hot. Is there a way to take a device that plugs into get power into an outlet and make it plug into a portable battery? Also whats the deal with these things: Cine 60 Sun Guns? How would LED lights effect super8 and 16mm filmmaking? I recently held on for a friend who was shooting with Canon 5D or 7D not sure but it was fun and I enjoyed shifting the temperature and viewing the viewfinder of the camera to see the effects when I shifted the temperature knob. I would like some advice and general input from this community.

Ok, so I have been searching all over the net and there tends to be little information about these cameras. If anyone has any information it would be appreciated. I know Keystone has long since gone bankrupt and so information on their products have become scarce. Also, a manual or technical information would be appreciated to. I don't mean to inconvenience anyone so, i appreciate any help offered. I have a Keystone Capri K-30 camera, and it is in practically top notch shape, it seems to have a similar build to The K-26 model minus the other 2 additional lenses...so idk if that helps or is reliable. but, im trying to learn about this camera and what it can do and what are its limitations. and what i can do with it. 2nd im trying to find out how to switch out the battery, and where the battery compartment even is. cause i assume it runs on a battery.. and are their any batteries made nowadays or in production that will work for this camera. also im trying to see if i can find information on how to load film into this camera, and how to use this camera. I know it uses 8mm film and Super 8 film (they may or may not be the same thing im not sure sadly), and you have to crank the lever., i just need to know the loading and operation procedures. Also does anyone still produce 8mm film? does anyone have any websites to suppliers of such film. What types of 8mm film are their, i know there is probably black and white film, and color film or im guessing black and white and color film exist....but, is film speed (ISO) a factor here? that may be a stupid question, i mean i assume so. do these have a set shutter speed or a changeable shutter speed? Second is developing 8mm film similar to developing 35mm, medium format, or large format films like for still cameras like you would do in a photography class?

I just bought a Bell & Howell Electric Eye 8mm camera, and I'm pretty sure I need double 8mm film, but correct me if I'm wrong... Does anyone know where to get this kind of film? Thanks.
