It's a quick test comparing regular S35mm Alexa, matched for both field of view and depth of field against the shiny new Vistavision-sized sensor of the Alexa LF, using spherical lenses. If you click through to the vimeo link, you can download the full 4.4k ProResHQ file in all its glory, which I'd highly recommend pulling into a piece of grading software to look at up close. Heading into the field shortly to shoot some sync sound camera tests-- I'm interested in trying to use as much of my "new" camera as possible, including the Pilotone and the start mark system. Has anybody had success recording this Pilotone, especially going to a digital recorder? If it's possible, I'd love to be pointed in the right direction for cables, 5-pin DIN to 3-pin male XLR. Hey everyone, I recently purchased a BL4s package in used but decent condition. I'm pretty excited about the camera but so far have not been able to get it to run. The previous owner stated the camera is running and good to go. The motor turns over but then stops right away. I bought the Arriflex 35 book and have been combing through but it doesn't describe this issue. When I plug the battery in (Bescor 12v 14.4ah) I get a quick beep tone. Then when I flip the cam switch the motor kicks but then stops half a second later. More like a quick jolt. The leds come on and I was able to reset the footage counter. I also checked the fuses and none of them appear to be blown. The camera came with a precision speed controller which I tried as well and that does the same thing. If anyone has any advice that would be great. Thanks!

Alright before I continue, let me say... Im not exactly a gear head. Im much more about the feeling, and always say you can make a great film shooting on a toaster if you have the right ideas/script etc. The reason im writing this is because late last year I purchased a Red Epic-W and while Ive been able to shoot some nice content, I keep running into stupid issues with the camera itself. Im not alone actually. Others are constantly complaining about the "green cast" and all sorts of other bugs that you would think wouldnt be present on a "high end" camera. Im just wondering.. did the alexa mini come with a bunch of bugs as well? Maybe this has already been discussed., would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction. And if not.. What do you prefer to shoot on when it comes to reliability. Thanks

Hello Sorry if it's a silly question but i'm new to all that ... These lenses from this RENTAL STORE are made for 35mm Film cameras ... right ?? (ARRI Master Prime , ZEISS T 1,3 , ZEISS T 2.1, Cooke S4, Cooke Zoom 20-100mm, Ultra Prime) And also are compatible with Cine PL digital cameras like ALEXA, RED, Canon EOS C300PL etc ... Right ?? But according to this chart ... If I want to use a 18mm lens in the way Kubrick it .. it's impossible with the Digital cameras .. Right ?? And the CLOSEST to that is Canon C300 with 99% !! Right ?? So the Canon C300 is better on that point than the high end ALEXA and AMIRA ?!?! And what is the solution to achieve an 100% result ??? Thank you !!
